What I like to do; Lake Barrrine, approx 5 klm walking track around lake, not elevated, takes approx 1hr to do walk. Follow up with a delicious coffee and homemade scones with Jam and Cream at the Lake Barrine Teahouse. It is also a lovely place for a swim. Distance from property 15 mins Lake Eacham - lovely crater lake with crystal clear water to swim in. - Walking track, some elevation. Distance from property - 20 mins Galleo Cheese and chocolate factory - Malanda - Great spot for testing some delicious unique cheeses and chocolates - 30 mins Yungaburra Whistle stop for delicious lunches in quaint garden settling Yungaburra Hotel - for great priced counter meals , lunch and dinner Attractions - Curtain fig tree, Cathedral fig tree Herberton Historic Mining village, day trip, 40 mins. Lake front , situated on Lake Tinaroo, a man made lake in the Cairns Highlands area. Lake Tinaroo is popular for swimming, water skiing, fishing and catching Red Claw. Surrounded by farming property, the Lake provides irrigation for farming. The Lake is man made and when water level is low, relics of chimney from houses and various other interesting sites are visible. Surface area of the dam is 3500 HA (8600 Acres).
