So close to Hobart City and MONA yet immersed in the Tasmanian countryside, this stunning, architecturally designed, 2 storey home on 15 acres is constructed from over 6500 mud bricks and over 30 ton of rare Tasmanian timbers including: Celery Top Pine/Huon Pine/Sassafras and Blackwood, glass and masses of local stone and slate. The vista is nothing short of spectacular being surrounded by large mountains on 3 sides and beautiful gardens. This is not a shared space as you get 3 beautiful bedrooms, kitchen, dining area, lounge area with wood burning fire, lovely bathroom with bath and full gym - all in a self contained area on the ground floor. Have a bubble bath in crystal clear Tasmanian spring water from our creek, go for a bush-walk through pristine Myrtle forests, play with our beautiful Border Collie, watch the antics of our ducks in the dam or have a BBQ in your own entertainment area by the pond. A FANTASTIC PLACE TO WATCH THE SOUTHERN LIGHTS AND SEE SNOW! Loads of wildlife regularly on view: Kangaroos, Wallabies, Bandicoots and Kookaburras Perfect for a weekend away or as a base for your Tassie adventure - pls note we have almost 100 reviews on another site.

We moved down to Tassie approximately 16 years ago from Sydney and haven't looked back. We have listed our property on other sites for over 6 years and have over 650 reviews. This is more than our home - it has become our life and we are very grateful for it and wish to share it with others.
Collinsvale is a very quiet rural area (yet so close to the city) set in an amazing valley which is surrounded by mountains on 3 sides. Collinsvale has some amazing walks through rainforest and bushland. We are a 10 minute drive to MONA (Museum of Old and New Art), 12 mins. to shops, supermarkets (Northgate, Glenorchy) and restaurants, 5 mins drive to the beautiful Myrtle Forest, 20 mins drive to Hobart City and 35 mins drive from/to Hobart International Airport.
