Palm House B+B is a property originally built in 1865 set in a superb location, a short 2 min (300 metre) walk to Maldon 's enchanting preserved Victorian village . Guests are invited to enjoy one of three beautifully appointed, queen sized bedrooms. Individually decorated in period style. Each unique bedroom has an adjoining private bathroom. Bed linen is specifically selected 1000 thread count Egyptian cotton, handcrafted French heirloom quilts adorn each Wrought Iron bed that sits upon an elaborate authentic Persian rug. Why not plan your day on the verandah overlooking the garden, seated on a pillowed wicker chair savouring a pot of tea or freshly brewed coffee? Alternatively save this treat for early evening where you can enjoy fresh, crisp refreshments - or do both! Stroll through our lush botanical garden, stop now and again to appreciate the smells, sounds and textures of the country or reach out for a deck chair and recline under the peppercorn tree on soft mowed lawn for a quiet drink and contemplation - you could even borrow a book from our library.
Meander through an extensive kitchen garden which provides the house with fresh, organic produce all year around or relax on an English garden bench surrounded by herbs and the watery tinkle of a bronze fountain. Watch bees drink while waterlilly's open. Enjoy our gourmet breakfast baskets of hot & cold ingredients in a fully appointed self-catering kitchen every day from 7.30 am. A friendly, vibrant, country town, Maldon & Palm House B+B welcomes you to explore our exceptional gold mining history.
Come & see Lake Cairn Curran where you can Fish, Sail and Water-Ski to your hearts content. Mt Tarrengower has a historic Fire-Spotting Tower which is accessible by the public to see 100km in any direction. The atmosphere and views from Rock-of-Ages is spectacular. The Victorian Goldfields Railway offers trips to and from Muckleford for the entire family. Go Christmas shopping at our fabulous Christmas Shop – all year round.
