Maitland is the perfect place to base yourself when visiting the Yorke Peninsula. Centrally located its an easy drive to both our coasts and its many attractions. Escape the hustle of city life and relax in this peaceful country town. The house offers you a base from which you can easily walk to a range of facilities in the town including two historic pubs, supermarket and cafe and bakery. The house is located in a quiet part of the town. It offers off street parking, even for your boat or van.
Hi my name is Phil and my wife's name is Karen. For a big part of our lives we traveled to the Yorke Peninsula for family holidays, diving and fishing trips and exploring the beautiful coastline. We fell in love with the area and its relaxed lifestyle so in 2011 we built our holiday home here. Since then we have retired and moved permanently to the Peninsula. Our other big passion is our garden and we have set about to grow much of our own fruit and vegetables. With the changing seasons our garden keeps us busy including our chickens which give us a ready supply of eggs. we still enjoy our regular beach walks with our dog Isobel. We have also used Airbnb extensively throughout the world with recent trips to parts of Asia, USA and Europe. As we live close by, we are available to welcome you on arrival and help you settle in. If you have any questions or need travel tips we would be more than happy to help.
We chose Maitland to retire as we love its relaxed lifestyle and country hospitality. The opportunities to dive, fish or stroll alone on the beach are endless. Walk the Yorke offers the opportunity to complete the full perimeter of the peninsula, while many small sections can be undertaken as day hikes or casual strolls. A great day trip is a visit to the spectacular Innes National Park. Historic ports of Edithburgh and Port Victoria are within easy reach.
