Pine Scrub Beach House is a fully self-contained home set in the Australian bush at your very own private beach. We are on Flinders Island, Tasmania, a perfect place for a secluded getaway or get involved with the friendly locals - the choice is yours. Surroundings include a combination of beach, bush and national park. You will also share the area with the beautiful Monarch or Wanderer Butterfly all year round. Things to do include bushwalking, mountainbike riding, fishing, beachcombing, swimming, diving as well as quiet time to read your book, paint our beautiful land and seascapes or whatever you wish to do. The house has 2 bedrooms with queen beds but also we have 2 foldout single beds if required. The house is fully set up as a home should be, including coffee machine, washing machine and line. It is literally metres away from the ocean. One very important thing to know is that "Telstra" is the only carrier that works on Flinders Island so you will need a Telstra sim card

Welcome. I am a Registered Nurse, farmer's wife, mother of 4 I've lived on Flinders Island most of my life but have lived and worked elsewhere in Australia. Husband and I love travel, in Australia and overseas, often taking our kids with us. I love Flinders because of my lovely childhood memories, but also because of it's safe, easy going lifestyle. I love the beach, swimming and scuba diving. I love family and making people feel that they are a part of my family even for just a little while.

We are in an area called Leeka or West End on Flinders Island. It is about 35 minutes drive from the main town of Whitemark, Half of the road is sealed, half is a good wide gravel road. It is on the West Coast half way up the Island so accessible to all areas of the Island. You will need to hire a car from one of our local hire companies, there is no public transport or taxis. I highly recommend an AWD or 4WD if you are unfamiliar with gravel roads. A great website to check out is "visitflindersisland" for details of hire cars plus things to do and see. There are many good walking routes.
