Please note we have dogs on the property. THERE MAY BE DOG HAIRS ON THE LINEN EVEN AFTER WASHING (THIS IS INEVITABLE). I am the host and will live in one of the rooms in the basement. I speak both English and Chinese. In the past, we have had people leave negative feedback while citing "language barrier" or "language difficulty". They use this excuse to claim that they were not told about amenities and such. As you can see here, I speak fluent English. Claiming language difficulty is a growing and common tactic to disguise racism. I am an Asian person who speaks fluent English. For some people, this is a problem worthy of leaving negative feedback. We can never please people who discriminate against us, as I cannot change the fact that I am Asian. So, if you see a person leave a negative feedback claiming that they had "language barriers" or "language difficulties", you know what they are hiding and what they are actually saying. They hide behind the language difficulty and claim that 5-star hotel amenities were not told to them because the host could not communicate. Be sure not to get yourself locked out of your room. There is a service fee for opening your room if you get locked out.

Please note we have dogs on the property. THERE MAY BE DOG HAIRS ON THE LINEN EVEN AFTER WASHING (THIS IS INEVITABLE). This is an easy-going home stay with other housemates with no frills. The room is in the basement of the house. There are 3 rooms in the basement unit. Two of the rooms are available for booking, and I live in the other room. You save on hotel rates and have lots of freedom. Private rooms with lock and key. Shared facilities: bathroom, kitchen, washing machine, dryer. In the past, we have had people leave negative feedbacks because they expected to be treated better than at a 5-star hotel. We can never please such unreasonable people. If you are fine with an easy-going stay in an environment like a home with no need for hotel luxuries, then this is suitable for you. Also nitpicking 5-star hotel treatment to leave negative feedback can be a subtle form of disguising racism. So, when you see this type of feedback, keep this in mind. We keep the price low and pass the savings onto you. Please consider this in your feedback. We need support from the guests to continue to offer great prices. By supporting the Asian community, you benefit also.

We are within walking distance to the University of Wollongong, but the walk is not that easy as there are uphills. Going to the University is mostly downhill and would take about 15 minutes. Coming back is mostly uphill and so will take longer depending on your walking pace. There is a free shuttle bus from the University that takes you to within 10 minutes walk to/back downhill/uphill. You can ask me about how to take this bus. If you smoke, please do so upstairs at the street level so smoke does not come in the house. We are located near the beach and there are free shuttle buses to the train station, city center, and beach. You can ask me about how to download the apps for the bus schedules or look on the internet. Food delivery is available through multiple delivery services such as Uber Eats. It is a residential neighbourhood. There is street parking. There are days where there is garbage cleaning. Do not park in areas that would block the collection of garbage bins, usually in front of the houses.
