Royal Palm Cottage is situated in a very quiet peaceful neighbourhood and is pet friendly with fully fenced front yard and separately fenced backyard with sparkling inground private pool and lush tropical gardens. There are two smart TVs with Netflix, ping pong table in carport and electric bbq on back verandah. Free wifi is excellent. There are lots of lovely walks and bike paths close by, as well as tennis courts and an aquatic centre with heated pool, coffee shop and art gallery with art activities available for people with artistic inclinations within five minutes walk from property. Mission Beach with stinger net (seasonal) is 2 mins drive from property as well as two jetties, one with boat ramps. Perry Harvey Jetty, (5 minutes drive) is good for fishing and seeing sea turtles. Cafes and restaurants and post office is 2 minutes drive whilst Woolworths shopping centre is 6 minutes drive away. Don’t be surprised to see cassowaries anywhere (even at Woolworths). Keep your eyes out along any roads whilst around Mission beach area. The beaches are firm enough to ride along on push bikes, from Mission beach all the way to South Mission beach (electric bikes are the best fun!)
Myself and my husband own a farm 40 minutes away where we grow avocados and mangoes, but bought our lovely cottage in Mission Beach to retire to eventually as Mission Beach is such a beautiful safe area with all amenities, the best beaches I’ve ever seen with clean clear water, white firm sand and lush vegetation everywhere. We ‘re always seeing wallabies, cassowaries, turtles, and stingrays. Fishing is good even off the jetties. We love to ride our electric bikes everywhere. You don’t really need a car if you have a bicycle at Mission Beach, as we are close to shopping, ambulance, doctor, vet, library as well as aquatic centre, tennis courts and pottery and art centre. Mission Beach is ideal for retirees.
Mission Beach is the main beach with Post Office, Tavern, cafes, and restaurants, cafes,Clump Point boat ramp, (a brand new multi million dollar boat ramp),Perry Harvey jetty, (good for fishing and seeing huge schools of fish and turtles)bike tracks and walking tracks along and to the foreshore. There are fresh water creeks in abundance springing out of the rainforested mountains that form a backdrop to the beaches. Markets are on generally every Sunday at Mission Beach. Skydiving is fun to watch when people land on Mission beach. There are interesting volcanic rock formations on one end of Mission beach with rock pools. Wongaling Beach is six minute drive away with Woolworths for shopping. South Mission Beach is ten minute drive with a lovely wooden walkway and small boat ramp as well as a river for crabbing.
