A peaceful 1864 Cottage and Shearer's Quarters nestled amongst 600+ year old red gums with picturesque mountain views. Immersed in wild life, native flora, and epic scenery; nature awaits. Stay in our historic bluestone STONEYCROFT COTTAGE (2 b/r, sleeps 4) and adjoining shearers quarters (6 b/r, sleeps 12). The Cavendish Bunyip hotel and tranquil Settlers walk are 5 mins drive away, whilst Dunkeld's scenic mountains and great eateries are 20 minutes drive. Pets are very welcome but strictly not inside please.
You have complete peace and privacy. The cottage is self-catering. We have a minimum 2 night stay all year and 3 nights over public holiday weekends. If time permits, you may be able to join Johnny or a team member on some farm activities! Depending on when you stay, we lamb down in June, weigh lambs for sale in Nov, shear in Dec, and feed stock throughout Summer and Autumn. There is always something going on
From here you can get to Cavendish about 5 min and enjoy The Bridge Cafe, for coffee, bread, basics, papers etc. The Bunyip Hotel is also located in Cavendish which has welcomed home Award Winning Chef, James Campbell, of Movida fame. He is serving up an ever-changing, locally sourced menu for dinner Thursday through Saturday as well as offering lunches Saturday and Sunday. The famous Royal Mail hotel in Dunkeld is just 20 minutes away as is the Old Bakery in Dunkeld. Hamilton is 25 mins to Aldi, Woolworths, Coles, restaurants and hotels for meals. A car is ideal to explore the area!!
