The location was peaceful, with beautifully manicured gardens. The hosts were very welcoming & invited us to inspect this gorgeous property and its surroundings as often as we wished to do so. Our short holiday was as sweet as the honey from the hosts' bee hives, gifted to us during our stay.

It is located on 5 acres of tropical and exotic botanical gardens with a tranquil creek. The property is conveniently located within a 40-minute drive of Gold Coast Airport and is a 10-minute drive from Brunswick Heads and Mullumbimby. The center of Byron Bay is 25 minutes' drive from Sanctuary in The Pocket and it is a 10-minute drive from the local surf beaches of South Golden and New Brighton. All cottages feature full kitchens and each has air-conditioning and a wood fired combustion heater. Netflix and free WiFi are provided. All guests have access to the gardens at the property. The Studio Apartment does not have access to a pool or spa.

Sanctuary in The Pocket is a beautiful property situated on 5 acres in the Byron Bay Hinterland, 10 minutes north of Mullumbimby and 10 minutes west of Brunswick Heads and the amazing beaches of Byron Shire. The Gardens were lovingly created 25 years ago by a horticulturist and consists of open lawns, established exotic gardens and pockets of rainforest, with beautiful natural creek, spring fed from the Hills behind. We purchased the property in 2013, with the intention of creating a beautiful space for guests to enjoy the peacefulness of the property and allow them to relax in the stunning surroundings of the magnificent gardens. Two years were spent reinvigorating the gardens and renovating the buildings, keeping many of the original features, but also modernising, introducing new styles and finishing them to the highest level of quality. It is the ideal space to use as place to just be, or as a springboard for all that Byronshire is famous for. We provide accommodation for up to 12 people, and thus is beautifully positioned to hold Weddings and family events.
Hi I'm Lisa a creative alchemist who works from the intersection of emotional intelligence, behavioural science and creativity. A maker, designer, scientist, both my husband and I are London born, Aussie converts married for 24 years previously living in the Gold Coast Hinterland. Our kids have left the nest and it's our time to thrive in our hidden tropical rainforest in NSW, only 12 mins tp the beach, we are surrounded by brilliant shops, restaurants and creativity. Within Sanctuary in the Pocket, our goal is to share a place that is full of love and positive energy to allow our guests to recharge with good food, the odd wine or cocktail plus take a break and escape into their own private paradise. The Pocket is a tranquil valley, with gorgeous open fields, with predominantly cattle and horses. It is quiet and peaceful, but just 10 minutes from the local townships of Mullumbimby and Brunswick Heads. The neighbourhood predominantly provides fresh produce to many of the local farmers markets and restaurants and is an abundant environment
