Wallabies Rest is a glamping tent set in the Australian bush offering a retreat from everyday life in a private, romantic and peaceful setting. Especially designed for couples, this tent is easily accessed directly off the Castlereagh Highway via an internal road suitable for any vehicle. Peter and Tracey welcome you with a complimentary bottle of wine, a freshly baked loaf of bread and goodies such as chocolate and marshmallows. There is a fire pit with wood supplied to keep you warm beneath the stars at night whilst you listen to the sounds of the Australian bush (or if so desired you can bluetooth your phone to the sound system). In keeping with the environment, the tent is solar powered and features all the comforts of home with a comfy bed (complete with electric blanket), gas heating and a ceiling fan. The kitchen is appointed with a microwave oven, coffee machine, stainless steel sink with hot and cold water, and a fridge stocked with bottled water and milk. Satellite TV is available around the clock. The ensuite features a shower and flushing toilet and on the deck outside, a camp kitchen with gas BBQ and sun lounges ensuring your comfort and enjoyment of the great outdoors.
Peter and Tracey enjoy living on their small farm with their horses and dogs. The pets love visitors but cannot access the tent.
We are in the outer surrounds of the Lithgow local area featuring lovely parks, a swimming pool and/or lakes, restaurants and entertainment. Ten minutes up the road is the charming village of Capertee with a pub, and take away/general store and petrol available around the clock. In the other direction is the whimsical town of yester year, Portland complete with another pub, cafes and a take away, club and news agency. Just a half hour drive from the Lithgow CBD and 40 minutes from the glorious Capertee Valley. A scenic forty five minute drive takes you to the sister towns of Kandos and Rylestone with attractions galore, as well as Glen Davis and Glen Alice and the Wollomi National Park of which the scenery is truly breathtaking. The tent site is near the Ben Bullen State Forest and offers a true feeling of solitude with opportunities for bush walking and bird watching, as does the Gardens of Stone just a bit further up the highway. We are 95klms from the town of Mudgee offering restaurants, shops and wineries just waiting for your patronage.
