Come and experience a unique stay in an ecological studio surrounded by large diversified fruit and vegetable gardens and ponds along the Portneuf river. The studio is a bright and open space with high ceilings, a living room, kitchenette and sleeping area (sofa bed), separate bathroom with shower and a compost toilet (odorless). Enjoy the peace and quiet in the heart of nature, with our turkeys, and many nearby activities such as sightseeing in Québec city, local markets and trekking at nearby national parks. The main house is made of straw with solar panels.
I recently acquired this eco-house in April 2021 and layed out extensive fruit and vegetable gardens with a permacultural design, an integrative approach with nature. In the summer, volunteers from around the world come to lend a helping hand and learn about ecology and organic farming. Renting the studio is also important to provide a window into this unique lifestyle for visitors to enjoy during their short stays. The gardens will seduce you with the rustling sound of the Portneuf river lining the property. We look forward to welcome you at Maïa Gardens. We are 30 minutes away from Québec city and Trois-Rivières and 2 hours from Montreal. There are also many activities possible nearby: - Jacques-Cartier trails along the river to discover the history and nature of Pont-Rouge - Deschambault Saturday public market during summer months - Canyoning Quebec in the Bras-du-Nord Valley with stunning views - Marmite Falls in the St-Pierre River - Devil Hole’s Cave in St-Casimir, the second longest cave in Québec dating more than 8000 years - Zac Batiscan Nelson Park for fishing, hunting, camping and nature trails - Bras-du-Nord Valley with hiking trails, mountain bike, river-rafting and more - Clear Water Beach at Simon Lake in St-Leonard-de-Portneuf for kids and families - Golf clubs of Pont Rouge, Le Grand Portneuf and des Pins Nearby necessities - 2 km from Intermarché supermarket - Many restaurants nearby including the best pizza at Pizzeria Paquet, an amazing restaurant - Chez Moi - in Deschambault, Sushi Nagano in Pont-Rouge and many local breweries and other bistros We are close to highway 40 and 138 which goes along the St-Laurence river.
