Very busy city, a little difficult to get around (definitely avoid driving if you can), with lots of fun places to discover and a few major highlights, including La Sebastiana, one of Pablo Neruda's houses, and the Palacio Baburizza.

Valparaiso is a lovely artistic town.
Valparaiso is a lovely artistic town. We enjoyed our day there. The area of Valparaiso we stay in was very walkable, although you can call for a cab for going further out. We enjoyed our stay at Casa California and the area around it. We ate at a little Cafe, Maria, Maria for breakfast on Beethoven Street, just a few hundred feet from Casa California. And you can take photos of the piano steps and walk up them. We had dinner at a bar and restaurant just up the hill and around the corner, a block or so over. We also had dessert at a cafe across the road from there.

Valparaiso is a vibrant colorful mountainous coastal town which we really enjoyed. There were several hillside dining options with fantastic views of the port town. Color murals painted on the buildings and walkways throughout town were fantastic, and added to the overall vibe of the city.

Cool city with an artistic vibe, lots of street art, young and older music artists etc.
Had a guided tour around and would recommend that to get a full view of the old-part of the city.
Also check out the live-music scene, had a great experience going out to their live-music bars/ open mic gig and it was high level.
I did not experience any bad, but they say don’t go alone home at night, it can be a problem with theft.

Not much to see, just quite a lot of beatiful grafiti, some vintage "ascensors". Beaches are quite far away.
But the city itself is downright filthy and not very safe. Many locals told us. Some MF took my girlfriend's cell phone and ran away. I chased him and got the phone back, but when I caught him he reached under the t-shirt probably holding a gun. I only had a knife so I gave up my vengeance. Be very careful even during the day!
This beautiful boutique hotel has the best location. Right in the middle of Cerro Concepción , the most beautiful area of Valparaiso. Lovely room, great view out to sea, top quality bed linen and towels. Attentive service, good breakfast. Everything is within walking distance. We loved being in this remarkable city and found it to be welcoming and very safe.
My favorite hotel on my Chile trip. Classic interior architecture accentuated my experience with its high ceilings, wood herringbone floors, and tall doors plus vented transoms. Solid wood staircase should knock you socks off! Festive rooftop bar with view added evening pleasure. Strong security at entrance. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Great location, close to beautiful streetart and nice restaurants and cafes. Rene is a wonderful host, he will make you a great breakfast, has a lot of recommendations about the area and can tell you anything you want to know about Chile. Would highly recommend to stay here.
I loved this hotel. The view on the roof is stunning. Pascal gave me a ton of information on where to visit and eat in Valparaiso. The room was more than serviceable, and breakfast was terrific. Again, I loved this hotel and city!
Everything was perfect, the owners and the staff were fantastic. Exceeded our expectations!!! I will recommend this boutique hotel to anyone traveling to Valparaiso.
Thank you for an unforgettable New Year's Eve!
