The river is regarded as one of the most attractive stretches of water in Denmark, as much of its course winds its way through lush, grassy meadows. This river boasts clear water and a rich plant life, and only its most westerly portion, towards Gredstedbro, is regulated. The Kongeåen is truly a fisherman's paradise, and Foldingbro has its own private fishing spot, where you can catch your evening meal without leaving the garden! A trip by canoe is the most obvious way to enjoy the superb scenery from the water. After careful renovation, Foldingbro Inn is today an outstanding example of an idyllic and charming country residence. You will find plenty of activities and recreational opportunities for all the family in the large bright rooms. Numerous outings are possible in this former border country and a visit to Ribe, Denmark's oldest town, is an absolute must.
