We arrived in Ponferrada before the apartment was ready, but Abe met us there and let us bring our luggage up so we could explore the town. We found a Gadis supermarket two blocks away for supplies (including a bottle of regional wine for about €4). There were sufficient pots, pans, plates, silverware, etc for our dinner and breakfast. Everything was exceptionally clean and very comfortable. The little terrace was nice. Abe was a perfect host! Since this is an apartment and not a hotel, the luggage transportation services do not deliver or pick up to the apartment. However, the apartment is just around the corner from a cafeteria which has an arrangement with the services for pick-up and drop-off from a locked room. The location was perfect for that and it also got us right back on to the Camino.
