Casa Camino is set in spacious gardens in an ancient olive grove, on the edge of the old Roman town of Valle De Abdalajis. We are a 15-minute walk from a very good restaurant and a further 15 minutes' walk into our town. 5 minutes by car. The town has a lovely museum displaying many items from its history. There are 2 good supermarkets and several little specialist shops and bars. We are a short car drive through the lovely countryside to the Caminito Del Rey and the beautiful lakes of Ardales and the village of El Chorro. Half an hour away is the Arabic town of Alora with its old castle containing the oldest surviving Arabic doorway in Spain. In the other direction we are 10-minute drive to The LOBO (wolf) park which contains the most wolves in semi captivity in Europe. Also close by is a wonderful ecological Bodega, where tours and wine tasting are offered. A must see is the renovated convent of Magdalena, which dates from the 12th century, so beautiful and now a 5* hotel where you can eat or have a nice glass of wine. 30 minutes' drive away you can visit the ancient town of Antequera which boasts the most churches in a town in Spain, overlooked by the Indian head mountain. Many major shops restaurants and bars. A short drive up into the surrounding mountains is El Torcal one of the most amazing rock formations, developed when the entire area was under water several million years ago. Recently discovered there are some remains of a Roman villa with intact ceramics. Close by are the Dolman ancient burial mounds. We have horse riding nearby. We are an hours drive to Malaga International airport, and the Costa del Sol. There are also many different walks in the surrounding countryside.
