Oarsman's Bay Lodge was an amazing place to stay! It was secluded/quiet, not many people (adults only), the beach was 40 steps away from our room, food was delicious, and the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. And the views - stunning! There were places to snorkel right off the beach, the beach itself was lovely to lay on, and the water was clear and warm. The Lodge provides snorkeling and kayak gear for free, and they were happy to help us arrange excursions. We went during the wet season (February 2024), but we experienced very few downpours (and even while it was raining we still went swimming). Mosquitos really weren't bad at all - we really only encountered them at dinner time, and a little bug spray did the trick. The accommodations were well kept and comfy. Fantastic place to stay - you won't regret it!

As a solo traveler, the dorm was comfortable and had a degree of privacy with the partitions. The dorm guests ate meals together at one table, which made it easier to make friends and find others willing to do activities with you. Meals were very good, but a little bit small and slightly repetitive after a few days. Staff were great and were always willing to answer questions and help make your stay better in any way they could. The excursion to Sawa-I-Lau Caves was excellent and the hike up the mountain behind the resort gave panoramic views of the surrounding islands. Walking along the beach, there are nice tide pools south of the resort and a section of beach with overhanging trees, each about a half mile away and best enjoyed around low tide. Lots of free activities (snorkeling, kayaking, kava, dancing) as well as paid ones (massages and tours). It was quite stormy during my stay, but I still found it to be enjoyable.

The staff was super friendly. The owner, Dean, went out of his way to help us out. The bartender, Lucy, was very attentive. We took a trip over to the Sawa-i-Lau Cave). It was beautiful. We enjoyed being able to take the kayaks out further than just in front of the resort as some resorts wouldn't let you go very far, and we felt it was pointless to kayak at the other resorts. The food was good. There's a nice hike you can take with a beautiful view.

It's like they've mastered the art of hospitality, making us feel truly welcomed and cared for. We can't wait to come back and soak in the peaceful atmosphere once again. The staff were all very friendly and helpful without exception. Location is beautiful. Our bure was clean and comfortable. Food was ample and good. We took advantage of a couple of snorkeling activities and were taken to some excellent spots with spectacular coral.
