The host and apartment were both excellent. Good location for getting to the lavender fields near Valensole and Verdon Gorge region. It is about a 12-15 minute walk to the center of town. A large grocery store is about a 6 minute drive. The rooms are shaded which kept the apartment comfortable in the summer. Kitchen was well stocked, beds were comfortable, and having 2 bathrooms was a plus. Marc was very accommodating and helpful. He provided a local map and suggested things to do. We would definitely recommend Vacances Castellane.

Vacances Castellane is the name of our holiday apartment on the ground floor. We live on the first floor of our house. The house is set back from the road in a quiet neighborhood. Your terrace and garden are private and out of sight from the street. Children can enjoy playing outside. The apartment is equipped with every comfort: washing machine, dishwasher, vitroceramic hob, oven, microwave, fridge with freezer, etc. In the lounge there is a flat screen TV with various French, Belgian, Dutch and German channels (and more). The terrace is spacious and the garden is beautiful, with a view of the surrounding mountains and the famous rock in the center of Castellane. The apartment, terrace and garden are completely non-smoking (for health reasons of the owners). We ask you to respect this. After a fifteen minute walk you are in the center of Castellane with numerous restaurants and shops. Be sure to visit Brigitte and Marc's organic shop, La Maison Bio. We sell bread, viennoserie, cake, biscuits, regional beer and wine (directly from the producer), other drinks and all kinds of vegetables, fruit and groceries. On the terrace in front of the store you can enjoy a cup of coffee, tea, freshly squeezed juice, various soft drinks and breakfast and cakes. Our cappuccino is world famous in Castellane ;)
We are Marc and Brigitte and you can find us almost every day in our organic shop "La Maison Bio" (LMB) in the center of Castellane. Marc is responsible for your stay at Vacances Castellane, Brigitte is primarily responsible in our store and together we keep this cozy little shop running. We are both Belgians by birth, Brigitte comes from Tongeren and Marc from Tienen. In a previous life we were both active as accountants and personnel managers. Brigitte went to study again for 4 years at the age of 42 and then had a thriving practice as a health counselor in Tongeren. Marc was the one who got it in his head to move to France in 2014, and why not? So we both ended up in Castellane with great enthusiasm. Do you want tips for a successful stay? Do you not want to miss out on everything there is to see and experience? Ask Mark!
The entrance to the Gorges du Verdon is a few meters from our house. Castellane center is a fifteen minute walk from us. Ask us for restaurant tips, according to your taste. For organic bread, cakes and biscuits, fruit and vegetables, you can visit our organic shop.
