Great host. Huge room on first floor with lots of character. Very clean. Lovely view of the village form the windows. Comfy bed. Lounge in room. Tea and coffee in room. Bathroom was large and adequate. Parking available. We booked an evening meal, which Christopher cooked for us and it was absolutely fabulous. A 3 course meal with wines of our choice. It was a really lovely evening and I wish we could have stayed longer.

Historic house, tastefully furnished in the centre of the village, next to a friendly bar, with lots of parking right outside. Even on one of the busiest days of the year, Bastille day. The evening meal was superb. The hosts Chris & Damien were professional & welcoming. And the breakfast was outstanding

We stopped for 1 night on our way to Spain. Location is very good in the heart of a small village overlooking the church. Christopher and Damien were extremely accommodating and made us feel welcome. We had dinner & breakfast, everything was deliciously prepared with local products and beautifully presented. The room was spacious and well equipped with an adjacent room for our daughter. Everything we needed for our stay was available and although the house isn't entirely renovated, the finished areas are splendid with lots of character.

La Grenouille Noire is a gem, not the least because of its host, Chris. The rooms are splendid and very comfortable, the atmosphere homey and laid back, and the cooking fabulous. The pictures are 100% accurate; the village is quaint and quiet set in beautiful rolling hills. Chris is a fabulous host and cook, so whatever you do, don’t forget to book dinner in advance, which includes all beverages and a home cooked three-course meal. We intend to return with our friends, just for the experience!

Christopher and Damien were very welcoming hosts. Lovely rural village location albeit approx. 30 mins off the motorway. Good breakfast and we also enjoyed an excellent 3 course evening meal including aperitif,wine and coffee for an additional 27 euros. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable stay and good value for money. We will be back.

We felt most welcome by our congenial host. The bedroom with large bed, en suite and all modcons is situated within a fascinating old house. Our host was attentive, the breakfast was fabulous and I wish we had reserved dinner before arrival.

La Grenouille Noire has been lovingly and beautifully restored by the owner; the bedrooms, breakfast room, corridors and even the nooks in between are absolutely charming. The facilities are clean and the decor is delightful. The host Chris is lovely; friendly and welcoming, and went out of his way to accommodate our family’s requirements. The food was excellent. A really super place to stay!
