La Metairie is a 15th century farmhouse that has been lovingly restored to retain the original features. It is situated within it's own grounds. There is a 15ft X 30ft above ground pool with a decked sunbathing area. There is a log burner in the large gite and heaters for the smaller gite, please note that there can be additional fees for heating during the colder months for bookings of 6 nights or more, for bookings of 5 nights or less (due to the increased costs of fuel )we now impose a cost of twenty euros. Due to the thickness of the walls the property remains cool throughout the heat of summer. We aim to provide a a relaxing, peaceful break in the French countryside yet remain only 15 minutes from the beautiful, medieval town of Parthenay and 20 mins away from the market town of St Maxient D'ecole.

Mark and I have run La Metaire as holiday accommodation for 15 years. We live on site all year round making us available for any advice. Some of our favourite places to visit are La Rochelle, Saumur, Futuroscope and the chateaux of the Loire valley. Before you visit any of the nearby attractions always feel free to ask us for any advice regarding restaurants and "must do's" etc.

We are situated in a quite hamlet but only 15 mins from Parthenay with it's beautiful medieval quarter. Parthenay has many shops, restaurants and bars/cafes.
