The breakfast was superb. Each morning Alain prepared fresh fruit. An array of pastries, bread, cheese, yoghurts followed. Plenty of coffee or tea and orange juice. We ate breakfast inside around a lovely large table getting to know other guests and listening to their experiences and travels. Alain was always on hand. Our room was romantic and roomy. The bed was very comfortable. Lovely terrace to unwind. Plenty of reading material if you forget your book! Great shower. Lovely quiet location.

Free coffee & tea available at any time. We will be happy to reserve meals for any restaurant and provide suggestions & maps for daily sightseeing tours. COMFORT Each room is differently decorated & furnished with antiques, comfortable reading chairs, breakfast table & chairs, an armoire & chest of drawers & king-sized highest quality bed. STAFF The “staff” are the owners of Le Domaine de La Millasserie, M. Alain Pioton and Dr. Byrne Fone. Alain, from Bordeaux, studied and worked in Hotelerrie in France for several years, and after moving to the United States opened Alan Pioton Antiques in Hudson NY in 1985. For the next twenty-five years he imported antiques to the US from France. Byrne, Emeritus Professor of English and American Literature at the City University of New York, is a many-times published author. Alain Pioton and Byrne Fone have travelled throughout France over the last three decades, and in 1989 they bought the Chateau de La Redonde in the Dordogne as a vacation home. They sold it in 1999 and the bought La Millasserie. In 2005 they built the B&B wing next to the 17th century house and in 2008 they moved permanently to France and opened the B&B in that year. Since that time they have received guests from around the world at their five star rated Bed and Breakfast, Le Domaine de La Millasserie.

WE ARE IN the ancient province of the Perigord, the modern Department of the Dordogne, known as the land of truffles, wine, grande cuisine, and chateaux. La Millasserie is central to all the sites and sights of the Perigord: 20 minutes from Bergerac and the medieval villages to the south, 35 minutes from Les Eyzies and the world of pre-history, 45 minutes from the Renaissance city of Sarlat and from Beynac, Domme, and the chateaux of the Perigord Noir, and 50 minutes from Perigueux. The Perigord offers music, art, antiques, hiking, canoeing, boat trips on the Dordogne, a variety of sports, and some of the most beautiful landscape in all France. Le Millasserie is in the countryside, but within easy drive of all the sites of the Dordogne. But for those who are unsure about our location, or prefer a city or village stay, we urge potential guests to locate La Millasserie on Google maps.
