A beautifully renovated semi-detached farmhouse in the tranquil hamlet of Le Lavanchy between Montriond and Lac de Montriond, 3.6km from the centre of Morzine, and less than 5km from the Ardent ski lift taking you to the heart of the Portes du Soleil ski area. Le refuge is a comfortable blend of old and new, with traditional Savoyard workmanship sitting alongside Nordic-inspired interiors & decoration. It comfortably accommodates 6 people with all 3 double bedrooms having ensuite facilities
We are Kristina & Tim. We have a mixed Irish, Finnish and British background and bring elements of this heritage and culture to mix with the beautiful Savoyard architecture and scenery in our farmhouse renovation in the quiet hamlet of Le Lavanchy. As a keen cyclist Tim was a regular visitor to the area for many years, using the region as an alpine training ground. It also proved to be a great place for Kristina when training for triathlons and to indulge her passion for both open water swimming and skiing. We fell in love with the area for these reasons as well as somewhere to hike in tranquility and fresh air. Somehow Tim still does not ski or board…… We look forward to welcoming you to Au Pied d'Hauto!
Small, undeveloped hamlet of less than 25 houses, a mix of local residents and afew rental chalets, still a working village with La Ferme des Hauts Forts producing goats cheese and other products on the edge of the village. Less than 5 km from Ardent telecabine (free car park), 1km from Lac de Montriond, 1km from Montriond village, 3.6 km from the centre of Morzine, Le Lavanchy is located on the old road from Montriond to the Lac, now a quiet road with little through traffic, resulting in a peaceful spot close to all the amenities of Montriond and Morzine but far enough off the beaten track to remain calm and tranquil. With a view of Rod D’enfer, walking distance to Montriond village and up to Lac de Montriond, and access to riverside walks as well as mountain paths (for example to climb Nantaux), Le Lavanchy is a wonderful base to explore all the Portes du Soleil has to offer.
