I am a friendly and sociable host although I am still learning the French language (so please be patient with me). I enjoy meeting and talking to new people. However, Papillons is a haven of tranquillity so guests may relax in peace without disturbance if they wish. I will be available whenever needed. If I am not at home between the hours of 11am and 4pm, I will be reachable by phone.

You’ll be charmed by this adorable place to stay. Papillons is a dog friendly, nature lover's paradise just a short drive from the Puy du Fou, in the heart of the Vendeen countryside. It offers peace and tranquility as well as a very warm welcome in comfortable and characterful accommodation. Set in an acre of beautiful gardens it is a haven for wildlife and is a perfect place to relax and unwind after exploring all that the stunning Vendee has to offer including mediaeval castles and beaches.

Neighborhood info

If not visiting the Puy du Fou, the area surrounding Papillons is an outdoor lover's paradise. It is surrounded by stunning countryside walks from its front door, taking the rambler through forests and beside lakes where he/she may easily spot the native golden oriole, the hoopoe or the huge number of different birds of prey. The beautiful Mervent Forest is a 20 minutes' drive away and will keep even the most ardent rambler, cyclist or canoeist happy all the day long. The glorious mediaeval town of Vouvant, with its castle tower, folklore, riverside walks and excellent restaurants and cafés, is a must for any visitor and St. Mesmin castle, with its activity days and fascinating history is just a cycle ride away. The lovely medieval town of Pouzauges is 8km away and the beautiful Japanese gardens are a 20 minute drive away.
