Amalfi Bed & Breakfast is named for the Amalfi coast, a location I love. Our home offers guest accommodations in three en suite rooms, from a family room that can sleep up to four as well as two twin rooms that can have the beds linked to form a super king. Our location is ideal, 400 yards from the town square, just 250 yards to the first tee of Royal Dornoch, and the closest accommodation provider to the famed beach of Dornoch. To start your day we offer a sumptuous Scottish breakfast featuring home made breads and jams, local free range eggs, championship haggis from Cockburn's of Dingwall, black pudding from Grant's of Grantown-on-Spey, sausages and bacon, tattle scones, mushrooms and tomatoes. Of course porridge is offered as well a selection of cereals, yogurts and fruit. Orange juice, coffee and tea are provided. For the coffee aficionados, espressos, cappuccinos, lattes and americanos are offered from freshly ground beans.

Since the age of 5, Marelle has lived in the town of Dornoch which was the home of her parents and grandparents. Her grandfather ran the local dairy with a farm on the edge of the town. Marelle began the bed and breakfast in 1999, intending to run it for a couple of years. The business gathered momentum and flourishes today.

Dornoch is an ancient place - over eight hundred years old, featuring the Cathedral. This stunning kirk is the site for weddings galore as newlyweds find its charm and history the perfect way to begin their life's journey together. We hope you will search the cathedral and try the scavenger hunt: find the two pipers and the mouse! Only two guests ever have found all three. Perhaps the smallest city to have a cathedral in the United Kingdom, the kirk is matched by the old bishop's palace, now called 'The Castle.' The History Links Museum is an excellent place to begin your tour. A walking tour of Dornoch is shown on a handy map. Don't forget to visit the Witch's Stone, just 50 yards from Amalfi. It marks the location of the last witch burning in Dornoch. Thankfully it was almost 300 years ago. The Royal Dornoch Golf Club is ranked number 5 in the world by Golf Digest and is the site of pilgrimage for the golfing cognescenti. The club also offers a gentler 18 called the Struie. The Dornoch beach is wonderful with miles of sand to explore. Dornoch has a selection of excellent restaurants and shops to explore. There is plenty to do in Dornoch.
