Property information

This pretty, detached, single-storey barn conversion is located near Presteigne in a secluded valley on the borders of Wales, Herefordshire and Shropshire. Perfectly situated for enjoying the many countryside trails, either on foot or on two wheels (bicycles included!). The popular and medieval market town of Ludlow is nearby with its castle, excellent restaurants and fabulous market.

Neighbourhood information

Information correct at time of writing. There are an abundance of shops, restaurants and pubs to be found in the local towns of Presteigne or Knighton. The nearest railway station is Knighton which is five miles away. Elan Valley - 72 square miles of unspoilt nature and reservoirs. The popular, gastric town of Ludlow is also nearby. Ludlow Castle - The finest of medieval ruined castles, set in glorious Shropshire countryside, at the heart of the superb, bustling black and white market town. The Judge's Lodging History Museum - Step into the 1870s at the award-winning Judge's Lodging and discover the world of a most unusual household. Explore the 'upstairs, downstairs' life of the Victorian judges, their servants and felonious guests. Stokesay Castle - Quite simply the finest and best preserved fortified medieval manor house in England. Set in peaceful countryside near the Welsh border, the castle, timber-framed gatehouse and parish church form an unforgettably picturesque group. Croft Castle - Home of the Croft family for nearly 1,000 years, Croft Castle, a place of power, politics and pleasure, nestles in peaceful Herefordshire countryside at the heart of a 1,500-acre estate of woodlands, farm and parkland. Powis Castle - The world-famous garden, overhung with clipped yews, shelters rare and tender plants. Laid out under the influence of Italian and French styles, it retains its original lead statues and an orangery on the terraces. High on a rock above the terraces, the castle, originally built circa 1200, began life as a medieval fortress. Hereford Cathedral and Mappa Mundi - The Hereford Mappa Mundi is unique in Britain's heritage; an outstanding treasure of the medieval world, it records how 13th century scholars interpreted the world in spiritual as well as geographical terms.
