Located in the heart of the historic village of Long Melford, this cottage, which dates back to around 1450 in places, is within easy walking distance of 8 pubs, restaurants, as well as cafes and tea rooms. It's within walking distance to the National Trust's Melford Hall and also Kentwell Hall. It has just been renovated to a very high standard. It is a great base from which to spend a few days exploring the area. *One thing to note if you are booking more than 1 couple - is that the bathroom is en-suite from the master bedroom.
We recently returned home to England after many decades in New York, where we learnt how to rent homes to well-heeled New Yorkers expecting the highest standards.
Long Melford and the Sudbury area is of great hstorical interest, in particular for it's previous importance in the global wool trade, artist Thomas Gainsborough, it's magnificent church and of course it's famous antique shops. A short hop from Lavenham, Sudbury, Kersey and mny other beautiful villages. Bury St Edmunds, Colchester, Cambridge and Ipswich are all close by.
