Staff couldn't have been any more helpful. We called on the day having been let down by our previously booked accommodation. We were shown the three bedrooms available, and given time.to consider which, if any, we wanted to book.
The average price per night for a 3-star hotel in Aberystwyth this weekend is £171 or, for a 4-star hotel, £172. Looking for something even fancier? 5-star hotels in Aberystwyth for this weekend cost on average around £180 per night (based on Booking.com prices).

Aberystwyth looked a little run down since the last time I visited about 20 years ago ..a lot of student lettings on seafront and the majority of buildings needed a coat of paint.
We were advised to go to pier restaurant where apparently they did steaks and various other options but when we went they only served fish and chips. Very nice but abit disappointed there was not a menu. Served in a box with wooden cutlery, a bit disappointed that we had such lovely views and a nice atmosphere and had basically a take away but to eat indoors .
We had breakfast at ‘The Home kitchen’ that was lovely
General the local pubs are very nice and not too expensive.
We did have dinner at the Marine hotel that was very friendly and inviting
Constitution Hill was an experience you can either walk up or go on the cliff railroad and when you get to the summit there is a lovely restaurant/bar not to mention the beautiful views from the outdoor dining area

I liked the shopping as lots of craft shops and charity shops. Lovely walk along the front and you have the ruins of the castle at one end and the funicular railway at the other end. Worth going up in the funicular as lovely views at the top and the café has delicious ice cream.
There are lots of bars and places to eat so you won't go thirsty or hungry.
I can recommend an Indian Restaurant called the 'Light of Asia' - very tasty food and a good vegetarian selection.
Also a vegetarian/vegan café called 'Dragonfly Bistro' with lovely food and very friendly staff. I would recommend the Sunday Roast but book a table as they are very popular.

I loved the bay and the coastal walkway.
I loved the bay and the coastal walkway. I was disappointed with the condition of the properties along and around the seafront. A feeling of neglect around the small streets. Lots of seagull droppings and rubbish cluttered these areas. The area around the train station was more desirable.

The town is friendly and clean with interesting shops. Very much student vibe and the arts centre
Had events worth attending. We managed to get last tickets to an event showing that it is popular to locals and visitors
Bikes from all across UK headed there on a sunny day. The roads were fantastic and the places of outstanding beauty were stunning too!

We enjoyed the closeness of everything and being able to walk to most places. It was an interesting town which we look forward to exploring more fully on our next visit.
We ate at a restaurant right next to the station, The Athro lounge, good selection for vegetarians and child friendly, to be recommended.
We had a fabulous stay at Bodalwyn Guest House. Check in was smooth and done easily with the room key left for you at reception.
The location of the guest house is perfect - a minute walk to the seafront and only five minutes to most of the shops.
The room itself was lovely, with a massive comfy bed and gorgeous bay window. We even had a bit of a sea view!
Overall, I would recommend the guesthouse to anyone and wouldn't hesitate to rebook! The perfect base for a visit to Aber.
The room was very clean and comfortable. The setting, close to a busy roundabout, could have led to a noisy room but quite the opposite is the case.
Food is typical of this type of hotel but was well cooked and well priced too.
Plenty of free parking. The location is outside the main part of the town and may not be so well suited for those wanting to be close to the sea but I wanted easy access to and away from Aberystwyth so the location was great for that.
Breakfast was excellent and it was a legitimate hot breakfast. Dinners--which were not part of the room price--were also excellent and were reasonably priced. Room was small but that was ok; I didn't spring for the large room. I would definitely stay here again if traveling through Aberystwyth. Compared to what I would pay for in the U.S., I was pleasantly surprised by the amenities and price of this hotel.
The view from the bedroom window was spectacular which included amazing sunsets over the sea. Staff were very friendly and helpful, free car parking a bonus. The hotel was in a great spot in the town for access via the roads at the front and back. Food (breakfast and evening meals) were absolutely lovely, very tasty, obviously a good chef. This was my first visit to Aberystwyth and I wasn't disappointed.
Hotel had been refurbished during lock-down so was all new. Lovely bed, excellent shower, new carpets throughout. Very firendly staff who let us in early because of the atrocious weather and storm (we had planned to sight-see in Aberystwyth but the wind and rain made that impossible. It was lovely to get into the comfort of the room.
Hotel is just 100 m from the beach and sea prominade.
The hotel location was great, right on the front within easy reach of the whole seafront, Pier, castle and town.
My room was very spacious, light and airy, nice high ceilings. All very clean and comfortable.
The breakfasts were very good and served very promptly. I also had two evening meals here, both were excellent.
The staff were very helpful and pleasant.
Amazing property with gorgeously appointed rooms and surroundings and top notch shared spaces. It has obviously been renovated fairly recently with really beautiful, modern finishes. Located a short walk from Constitution Hill and the rest of town. Aberystwyth was a hidden gem for us on our journey and this property was an amazing find.
The location was superb!!! Right on the beach front and nice boulevard! Just a 5min walk from the Cliff Railway with its breathtaking views! Staff was very friendly, room and facilities were good. Had a good night's rest! Breakfast was also good, enough to chose from! I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Aberystwyth!
If you’re after a comfortable, quiet stay in a pub/hotel setting then this is the place.
Free parking at the back, lovely food and drink on site and everything there is clean and comfortable.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Close to the middle of town and to everything you could need to enjoy Aberystwyth
Nothing....my room was cancelled when i was an hour away from Aberystwyth because they apparently had a Leak !!
I spoke to other people (friends of mine that were in the hotel) and they said that all the rooms were full. Luckily there was a room available at The Premier Inn across the road.
Hotel staff were excellent, especially with our terrible first night sleep due to the hard mattress. Staff changed it with no further problems. Room was very spacious.Easy access , no problems with parking. Room was quiet , even though other guests around.
Perfect location. Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were tidy and clean and perfect for a few nights getaway. Local to shops and a stones throw away from the beach. Went to visit Aberystwyth University with my son and was only a 5 minute drive away.
The property is very clean and well organized and taken care of. The staff was helpful. Breakfast was great. It is a great locations for walking the promenade as well as exploring Aberystwyth. The bus and train stations were close by.
spacious very comfortable, clean room; supported by excellent breakfast. Although no restaurant for evening meals, hotel provides list of food delivery services from Aberystwyth and provides plates and cutlery for eating in bedroom.
the view was excellent. Aberystwyth is a jewel in Wales crown. the location of the hotel on the beach front has the makings of an excellent stay. Unfortunately this was let down by the standards of the staff and service.
