I have been lucky enough to own this holiday home since 2003. I have had many wonderful holidays here and have enjoyed both the beautiful beaches around Rock and Padstow, the coastal path walking and, of course, the world famous Cornish pasties. Over the years the Chalet has been a real home from home for my family. We are now on the 3rd generation as my grandchildren now come to holiday there as well.

Designed in the style of a Swedish summer house / lake house, this welcoming timber lodge is located in Rock on Cornwall's Atlantic Coast, part of a small site of 12 in a peaceful wooded valley with views towards the Camel Estuary and Padstow. Sleeps 5 - bedroom 1 is the main bedroom with a king sized double bed and bedroom 2 contains a triple bunk bed (single over double). The open plan living area contains two sofas, a coffee table, a dining table for six and a smart TV with DVD collection for all ages. A spacious sideboard contains the tableware and useful items including local information and maps. Wifi (145 Mbps) is provided for our guests' convenience. The galley kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, electric cooker, microwave, toaster and fridge. A freezer, washing machine & tumble dryer are in the locker on the front porch. Outside, the large southwest facing timber deck comes highly recommended. It gets all the sun and is wonderful for lunches/barbeques and sundowners. There is plenty of garden furniture including a large sun umbrella and sun loungers.

Rock and the nearby towns of Padstow and Wadebridge are all on north Cornwall's beautiful Camel Estuary, a perfect area for beaches, nature and walking. Nearby beaches include Porthilly, Rock, Daymer Bay and Polzeath. Local shops - There is a local bakery, general stores, newsagent and others within a 3 minute drive or 15 minute walk. The chalet is conveniently placed for exploring the rest of Cornwall, being about half an hour from the Eden Project, Newquay and Tintagel, and about 50 minutes from St Ives and the Tate Gallery. Cycling the Camel Trail between Bodmin, Wadebridge and Padstow is a favourite recreation activity. For walkers there is the South West Coast Path (beautiful between Port Isaac and Pentire Point). Rock, Padstow and Port Isaac all have plenty of restaurants, gastro pubs and cafes including kitchens run by well known chefs Nathan Outlaw, Rick Stein and Paul Ainsworth, including the Mariners, just down the road by Rock waterfront.
