The neighbourhood The cottage is located near Church Stretton, with plenty of scenic walking routes on the doorstep, including the Long Mynd, Caer Caradac and Carding Mill Valley. There are several pubs nearby, and all recommended restaurants can be found in the welcome book upon arrival or provided ahead of time via email if requested. Meanwhile, the pretty market town of Church Stretton is just a 7-minute drive away or a 40-minute walk if you fancy it. Here, you’ll find an abundance of artisan boutiques, restaurants and cafes to enjoy. For a day out with the children, you can head to Attington Park for a stroll around the stunning gardens and a peek inside the 18th-century mansion. You might even spot the resident herd of deer roaming the grounds. A little further away is the riverside town of Shrewsbury that is brilliant for shopping with large stores sitting next to independent shops, and a big indoor market that sells a great range of handmade goods and artisan foods. Shrewsbury also brims with historic buildings including Shrewsbury Castle, while the contemporary Theatre Severn is a great place to catch a show before drinks in a cosy pub. The medieval market town of Ludlow is just over 30 minutes away and well worth a visit.
