Property information

This utterly charming one-bedroom cottage has been designed with exquisite attention to detail and is in a perfect location for exploring Ripon, Masham and beyond. A cosy and perfectly formed home from home, Feathered Nest is proof that good things come in small packages. This enchanting space will delight any couple looking for a luxury escape.

Neighbourhood information

A haven for walkers, cyclists or simply for couples seeking a quiet break, the rural location combines peaceful countryside seclusion and some popular North Yorkshire market towns within easy reach. This luxury holiday cottage near Masham, is a wonderful place to explore from. The nearby village of West Tanfield is a popular spot, with lovely walks along the River Ure or around Nosterfield Nature Reserve. There is an excellent choice of pubs for food and drink, and a well-stocked village shop here too. Masham is the closest town, and in our opinion no trip is complete without a tour of the popular Black Sheep Brewery! Stroll around the farmers’ market on Sunday’s (open from April to October), go riding across the beautiful Dales with Masham Riding School, or relax and indulge at Swinton’s country club and spa. Bedale, Ripon and Thirsk are also a short drive away, and offer a wide choice of places to eat and drink, plenty of shops and galleries to explore. Ripon is a beautiful city and a destination worth visiting, only 15-minutes away. The horse racing at the racecourse, the beautiful towering cathedral, the wide choice for eating out, plus the cinema are all to be enjoyed. The 25 acres of award winning gardens at Newby Hall, 20-minutes away, are stunning, as is the house which is open to the public. Wherever you choose to explore, the UNESCO World Heritage Site at Studley Royal Park and Fountains Abbey is a stunning sight not to miss. You may have heard of the Ripon Rowel Walk which runs nearby to this holiday cottage, and Hackfall Woods near Masham is a wonderful location to stretch the legs. For visitors to the Harrogate Convention Centre, Feathered Nest is well suited whether visiting for business or pleasure. For exhibitions and work events, the cottage offers guests a private space that you wouldn’t get with a hotel.
