The hosts were the best we have ever experienced. The cottage history coupled with Richard Fyson's history (Mandy's father) added a wonderful personal touch. The kitchen was the most complete in dishes and utensils that we have experienced in...

Property information

Maisey Cottage is a charming, 200-year-old, Grade II listed Cotswold cottage, located in the tiny West Oxfordshire village of Kencot, 5 miles from Burford. It is an ideal holiday destination for up to four people, ideally two couples, sleeping across 2 double bedrooms. A beautiful old Cotswold village home, with wood burner and original features, combined with a contemporary kitchen/dining area, opening onto a covered area, family bathroom and separate shower room, plus road-side parking for 2-3 cars and a secluded garden. It is the perfect cottage and location from which to explore the Cotswolds by car, on foot or on a bicycle. Please note: this property is not suitable for children under the age of 10. Babies (not yet walking) are accepted, but please bring your own travel cot and the linen for it. Book with us to get exclusive discounts to top attractions and experiences.

Neighbourhood information

Shopping Carterton, just 2.5 miles away, has everything you need for a short stay, including an Aldi, Morrisons and Asda, where you’ll find the cheapest and closest fuel. Carterton also has a good bicycle shop, pharmacy, opticians, dentists, doctors and several cashpoints (outside Asda, and at the BP garage). Burford - about 5 miles – one of the most well-known Cotswold towns - is great for gifts, galleries, antique shops, window shopping, pubs, tea rooms and delis. It also has a very large and interesting garden centre – a bit pricy but great for browsing nice things and it has a good café. A good place to go on a wet day! Witney - about 8 miles- is good for banks, general shopping, clothes, books and kitchen shops. It has a Waitrose, Sainsburys, M&S, Debenhams, Fat Face, Next, Jigsaw, jewellers, Steamer Trading, Lakeland, Argos, Robert Dyas and many independent shops. Eating Out, Walks and Places of Interest The owners of Maisey Cottage have produced a fantastic guide of their local area, based on a customised Ordnance Survey map centred on the cottage, and conveniently hung in the Central Hallway for all to use and plan a day’s outing from.
