Gloucester is very famous among people who love history. I love the Cathedral and it's guides, a gorgeous roust in Lily's near the Cathedral, and the nearness of Hereford, Worcester, Ludlow and Tewksbury
according to gl. tourist information nothing happens. ignore them. plenty to do, the cathedral, docks, quirky town centre pubs, the turks head for drink the fountain for food and a great sam smiths pub.
A good place to go for a couple of days, if your interested in history. The Cathedral is great and very big, so allow plenty of time to do it justice. The other main area of interest is the old harbour quays. This has been rejuvenated and is extremely clean considering the age of all the buildings. The waterways museum is worth a look, especially for kids. And the boat tour along the canal is interesting. However restaurants and pubs in the centre are pretty spread out, especially in the evenings.
Enjoyed touring the Cathedral; very friendly staff and very well captioned. A wonderful asset to Gloucester. Very good meal at the Med Restaurant at the quayside, Again very friendly staff. Sad to see delapidated shops on Southgate but this is a nationwide problem!
The dock area is busy and lively with a good range of restaurants and places of interest. The cathedral is spectacular and there is a café, serving yummy food. The Quays shopping centre has lots of shops and outlets.
Went up for a weekend to visit my brother and had a great time wandering around the old parts of the city and the various museums. Some great places too eat, especially at the quay for those who "know what they like", and some great local restaurants for those who like to try new things.

Location and grounds were beautiful. Very relaxing with lovely staff - the spa is / will be amazing when finished (we got a call on the morning of our stay to say the pool and facilities weren't available...as this was the reason we had booked the hotel we asked for a discount as it was too late to book elsewhere - they offered us a free treatment each. The husband wasn't up for that so I had a pedicure with Lizzie and it was really lovely, thank you)

The hotel is relatively new, a few minutes walk from the coach and rail station, it is located in the main shopping area. The room was bright and clean and included a TV, microwave and a fridge. There is no bar but plenty of bars and restaurants minutes away. Great value for money.

I chose these apartments because of the previous positive reviews... and I must say it was everything superb. I was travelling with my family hubby and a 8 yrs old boy. Before the arrival I had a nice chat with Adrian who explained everything on how to get there and what to do. We experienced some travel issues and we had a late check out, I informed Adrian and there was no problem at all. We kept in touch and everything was perfectly arranged. Apt wise it was perfect, very comfy beds, large rooms, two super clean toilets, really nice showers, kitchen equipped with everything you should need. We had TV, powerful WiFi and lots of space to relax and unwind after day trips around Cotswolds. I must stay it was a very pleasant journey. The apt are in the heart of Gloucester the view of the cathedral from the apt is stunning ... so what else... defo we will be back to visit more the beautiful area of Cotswolds!
