The room was spacious, quiet and well equipped. There was unlimited supplies for tea, instant coffee and milk.
Staff was very kind and helpful. When our kettle started leaking, we immediately received a brand new one straight from the box. There was a large selection for breakfast.
In the heart of Gloucester, the 15th-century New Inn features a medieval courtyard, real ale pub and free Wi-Fi. There is also a traditional restaurant with period features.

The location was great and there is plenty of history attached to the property! The facilities are good for an inn operating for over 400 years and staff are friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was good but lunch and dinner only offered Wed to Sunday.

We had a lovely weekend in Gloucester. My absolute favourite was the Gloucester Cathedral. The historical atmosphere around the Cathedral is stunning. The staff was very kind and helpful. If somebody is a Harry Potter fan like me, discovering a movie scene is an extra bonus. The walk around the city centre, shopping area is nice. My daughter really enjoyed looking around in some local shops like Cauldron Creations, close to the Cathedral. My kids liked the Legal Exhibition so much. We stayed for two nights in the Holiday Inn Hotel, where we enjoyed the swimming pool and the gym. I really recommend this city for a short break.

Gloucester is a beautiful and interesting place to visit.
Gloucester is a beautiful and interesting place to visit. Abundant history, welcoming cathedral and fascinating dock area with the waterways museum, so worth spending time with its videos of true Gloucester characters - also a great boat trip available- even likely to see a pirate!
Lovely wide pedestrian areas and attractive alleys. Fabulous towers of flowers brightening the streets; atmospheric flags decorating everywhere and interesting sculptures. A wide variety of places to eat, some very atmospheric. Car parking charges really reasonable.
BEST OF ALL... people are generally pretty kind everywhere, but I have never been to a place where so many people kept going the extra mile to assist - so outstanding that we kept commenting on it - not just tradespeople or people who had anything to gain, but ordinary folk of all ages, going out of their way to guide and assist !!!!

Gloucester offers a mix of history and modern life.
Gloucester offers a mix of history and modern life. Its stunning cathedral is a must-see, showcasing impressive architecture. The city's industrial past is reflected in the restored Gloucester Docks, now a vibrant hub of shops and restaurants. While the city center has its charm, it might feel less polished compared to nearby Cheltenham. Ideal for history buffs and those seeking a quieter pace.

Well placed for the Cotswolds, much to see and do within a 30 minute drive.
There are some lovely restaurants in Cheltenham, and Gloucester is interesting to visit. A hike up the Malvern Hills is recommended, the there is an app with detailed walks and durations.
Try and visit Bourton on the Water, it’s lovely!

Longlevens in Gloucester is a lovely place to stay.
Longlevens in Gloucester is a lovely place to stay. Great for families or anyone visiting the area looking for a safe neighbourhood not far from Gloucester town with lots of shops, restaurants, bars and parks all close by.
The hotel is set about 15 minutes away from Gloucester City Centre (via car). its lovely, idllyic and quiet. The staff did the best they could and they deserve a lot more credit for all their hardwork and efforts.
I loved the heated indoor pool, the heated jacuzzis and the heated hot jacuzzi (which was for adults only). The staff member that eventually gave us a remote on Sunday night (thank you very much), the ladies that help sort out breakfast are absolutely a credit they’re so warm and professional.
Location was very central and easy to walk to from Gloucester Train station. We could easily find shops, restaurants and attractions nearby such as the cathedral, the docks and some of the meadows. There is also a pub within the establishment and breakfast was good considering it was without a menu and we could personalise it by ordering what we wanted (hash, sausages, full English etc). We could also store our luggages at the hotel easily to go visit elsewhere before making our train station.
The room was bijou, but had everything you'd need in a hotel room. The bath towels were a generous size and the extra blanket was very useful. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I didn't have the breakfast, but did have dinner in the bar; the Friday fish & chips deal was superb and good value for money. If I'm ever back in Gloucester I would definitely stay at The Thatch Inn again.
Perfect location. Just outside Gloucester Central town. Walking distance to the town. Hosts were lovely. Very proud of their location and Gloucester. My room was full of caricature. As was the the building. Check out the photos around the hotel and explore. Lots of history on this building on London Road. Thank you Karen for everything thing ❤️
Staff and cleanliness excellent. Breakfast very good too. Good pub/restaurant next door to hotel and another great place to eat within 10min walk. Very close to Gloucester Quays for shopping so location good all round. The price was really good and I would definitely use Holiday Inn again.
