Everything we needed in the room, it was a good size and was very close to the waterfront and the new complex. Bus just across the road. Very helpful and obliging host. We would always go back to Spalite.

Fairly near to family who we were visiting. Near to a barbers we made use of and a large supermarket handy for anything I forgot to bring with me. It was lovely to stay in an English pub with Hawkstone beer to try though we preferred the special bitter. Lively menu which we felt would cover all tastes. Night one we had been out at lunchtime so just had the fish platter to share , second night we both had the steak perfectly cooked to our liking. Didn’t have dessert though they looked good when served to an adjacent table !

My first visit to Gloucester.

My first visit to Gloucester. Came for the Tom Jones concert at the Kingsholm Stadium. Stayed overnight at the Indigo Hotel - nice hotel. Gloucester feels like a city of two parts. The quays area is quite upmarket, nice shops and restaurants. However, a short distance from the centre is very run down. I saw people lying in doorways under the influence of drugs or alcohol, larger houses converted to HMOs, run down/derelict properties, rubbish in the streets. Groups of males hanging around in the beautiful park (had I have been on my own I’d have felt this a little intimidating) - there were police in the park as I walked past.

Gloucester is a nice small town with lots to see and lots of places to eat a variety of tasty food. The docks are lovely and there are plenty of establishments which have seated areas looking out towards the canal and moored boats. The retail shopping centre is a gem and has many nice shops to browse or buy. It's a visual fusion of the old and modern Gloucester. It is also central and easy for journeys to the rest of Gloucestershire and the Cotswold.

Lovely county with very friendly folk.

Lovely county with very friendly folk. The docks bit is nice of an evening . Also for Tolkein fans you can go to the Green Dragon pub about 10 miles to the east of Gloucester! It's a fantastic pub with great food in a tiny village, but worth the trip! Cheltenham racecourse is well worth the visit as well. Be prepared for lots of very small country roads once go exploring, it's beautiful as there are some spectacular views. Absolutely well worth the visit .

Not that much to do in Gloucester itself (although the cathedral is a must) but a good base for exploring further afield, with great public transport links. Great for walks along the canal and the river Severn.

The bus service was excellent.

The bus service was excellent. Also easy to get around on foot. Plenty of attractions to enjoy whatever the Weather. Plenty of traditional pubs and restaurants to choose from. Excellent chippy opposite the Kingsholm Stadium. Gloucester Abbey a must see attraction. Both Wetherspoons were good value for money.

It is a lovely city with a great deal of civic pride.

It is a lovely city with a great deal of civic pride. The cathedral is magnificent and we were surprised and delighted by the many historical features still surviving in the city. It rightly supports and promotes its independent eateries and shops. We had the most magnificent meal in Bangkok Canteen and wonderful lunches in a couple of your independent cafes.

My wife and I stayed at Judges lodgings Gloucester with our dog, Stanley. There's a park opposite which was very handy. When we walked into the apartment we were gobsmacked with the decor. It is like walking into a stately house, we loved it. It is clean, tidy and well equipped. The bed was good, the bathroom was spotless. A short walk to Gloucester quays and the city centre. Lots of cafes and places to eat at the quays. We had apartment 8 which is on the ground floor, great for two in there latter years like us.

Welcome is always kind & friendly. Rooms clean and comfortable. The information about Gloucester around the hotel is interesting and informative. Breakfast is great, help yourself tea/coffee, cereals etc. Toast & a full English breakfast then cooked to order. Staff are helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Looking forward to our next visit. Convenient for Central Gloucester.

Fantastic location right in the centre of Gloucester with parking a short walk away too, the price really was cheaper than budget hotels and the apartment was so clean and homely. The beds were particularly comfy and we loved the top floor so you could use the velux windows to look out. Really can't fault this apartment for value for money and cleanliness will definitely stay again.

Great hotel, quiet, newly finished. Staff were welcoming and very helpful. Appreciated the fresh milk in the fridge for tea and coffee. Good location for centre of Gloucester. Great clean comfortable room. Parking next to hotel convenient and you get a discount with voucher sent by hotel.

cheap hotel, but much better than previous ones we've stay at in Gloucester when up for the Rugby. Decent location, and not too expensive car park a few mins walk. All in all very happy, and will be our hotel choice for future trips when visiting
