Mytholmroyd is a small village with a handy train station a 10/15 minute walk from the cottage that goes east to Leeds and west to Manchester and beyond - 40 minutes is all it takes on the train to hit these fabulous big cities from this base. There are a couple of small supermarkets 5/10 minutes walk away from the cottage a Co-Op and a Sainsburys for any groceries. In 2 minutes from the cottage you are on the Route 66 cycle path with links in both directions to Todmorden and Halifax. In 5/10 minutes of strolling from the cottage you are in wonderful countryside great for exploring, walking, running or cycling - we are nestled in the the glorious South Pennines with access to the Pennine Way and plenty of Calder valley routes. This really is a fabulous location, that we feel lucky to live in. A 20 minute stroll along the canal brings you to the wonderful popular market town of Hebden Bridge - an award winning high street full of independent shops and a wealth of cafes and restaurants with its own wonderful cinema and a raft of fascinating festivals and events all year round. A 15 minute train journey or a 45 minute cycle along the canal you can be in Halifax home of Gentleman Jack!
