Gwesty Ty Newydd, hotel in Abersoch

Overlooking the sandy beach of Aberdaron, Gwesty Ty Newydd is a well-appointed bed and breakfast on north west Wales’ Llyn Peninsula.

We liked the room, especially the ensuite & the view especially listening to the waves. The breakfast was lovely, also the beach.. Nice place if you are looking for relaxation. A very nice pizza place around the corner

The Ship Hotel, hotel in Abersoch

Situated in Aberdaron and with Aberdaron Beach reachable within a few steps, The Ship Hotel features a restaurant, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi and a bar.

We received a friendly welcome and an excellent meal on our first night. The room was spacious and quiet and the hotel location perfect for our short stay. The breakfast was top class and set us up for the day. Car parking in the nearby NT car park was no problem (and no cost with a voucher from the hotel). We had a sea view from our room which was great.

Abersoch is a lovely village with beautiful beaches and lovely shops. We stayed Monday and Tuesday and had dinner at the St Tudwals Inn both evenings and breakfast at Zinc Cafe Bar & Grill. The food at the pub was good and reasonably priced. Breakfast at Zinc was fantastic. We were disappointed that many of the other cafes and restaurant didn't open on Mondays so the pub was very busy with a long wait for food. We enjoyed the food though so ate there again the following evening. The footpaths along the main road are very narrow and the road was very busy with cars and delivery vans.

It was back in the 1960's that I first visited Abersoch and I doubt very much that the place has changed very much although memory can be deceptive. What has changed is the number of people and the size of vehicles. It is ideal for families with children as the beaches are excellent although finding somewhere to eat can be difficult as the queue outside the only fish and chip shop can testify. Shopping is very limited, particularly for groceries, restricted to one Londis small supermarket and a butcher's and a very good delicatessen. Abersoch is not a good location for touring a beautiful part of the world as to get anywhere, Pwhelli has to be navigated with narrow streets and what can be horrendous traffic jams. It is mainly a centre for beach holidays. and watersports which, for us are now a distant memory.

Centrally placed in Abersoch and a very adequate room with all the facilities you would need. Because the pub was shut due to refurbishment none of the previously mentioned noise issues applied , and this was a reasonably priced accommodation. Booking in was very professionally handled and check out was equally efficient. Got to mention if you are looking for an excellent eatery in the town the Mexican restaurant ’ Manana’ is well worth a look. All in all a pleasant stay.

Big house with a big upstairs living room, with distant views of the coast. Great location equidistant from 2 lovely beaches, both about 20min walk away. 1mile from town. Nice and quiet. Abersoch beaches are superb, as good as anywhere I've been. And with beaches facing both east and west you should be able to choose a sheltered one.

Clean, spacious, fabulous accommodation. The hosts had thought of everything you might need just bring towels and tea towels. Close to centre of Abersoch and sea. Parking area. Three levels and two balconies gave noisy teenagers their own space.
