Surrounded by Snowdonia National Park, the Padarn Hotel is situated in the village of Llanberis at the foot of Snowdon, 100m from Padarn Lake and is 500 metres from the Snowdon Mountain Railway. Everything was great! Super comfy bed, large bathroom, very clean, friendly staff, several bars and great breakfast. Dog friendly and the staff loved them! Location is amazing in the middle of Llanberis only a stone's throw from the lake. Would definitely return.
Placed at the foot of Snowdon Mountain, the YHA Snowdon Pen-y-Pass is surrounded by stunning Welsh landscape in a rural location, with no mobile phone signal - offering guests a break from technology.... Its located right in front of Pen-Y-Pass, just right for hiking
Situated in the heart of the village of Llanberis, Idan House is just 10 minutes’ walk from the Snowdon Mountain Railway Station. This family run guest house is just 10 miles from Bangor’s city... It was in good repair, freshly decorated and spotlessly clean. The full cooked breakfast was excellent and the staff went the extra mile to be helpful.
The Heights Bunkhouse is located in Llanberis, in the heart of the village, 100 metres from Lake Padarn and within walking distance of the Llanberis Snowdon Path. For a female dorm. .I felt safe . Everything under one roof if that’s what u want . Music . Atmosphere. Great staff and lovely food . Hot showers and hot food Great car park
600 metres from Snowdon Mountain Railway, Dolafon Guest House is located in Llanberis and features rooms with free WiFi. Owners are really sweet and attentive, always making sure that we were alright. Do look out for their yellow cat “Toto” (not sure about spelling), he may look a little grumpy but he’s absolutely adorable and will come asking for a pat. The full Welsh breakfast and coffee are simply the best! Wish we had more nights. The property is just behind the bus stop served by S1 and S2, so don’t follow Google map which will lead you to the back lanes and be barked at by a little dog.
Situated in Llanberis, 2 km from Snowdon Mountain Railway, Gallt y Glyn Hostel features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. I Booked this Hostel because was near a race I have attended . I like everything . From the owner , the staff, the room and area . I felt so welcome here and the food were delicious!!!
Y Gwynedd Inn offers accommodation in Llanberis. Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant. All rooms have a flat screen TV. You will find a kettle in the room. Check in was via email.. But we did not check email before arriving. Very easy once we got message. We were there to Climb Snowdon. We made it. Wind and rain was brutal
Situtated at the foot of Mount Snowdon, The Lake View Hotel is surrounded by woodland and features rooms overlooking Lake Padarn. The rooms include a TV and a private bathroom. Loved everything, especially the shower. Amy & James were a really nice couple, great hosts (even though she told me to run up Snowdon haha) and very accommodating. The artwork and decor throughout the communal areas are beautiful
Llanberis has a delightful location on the edge of a large lake framed by mountains. A path can be taken around the whole lake. It has adequate but basic shopping facilities - we used two reasonably stocked convenience stores. There are several eating outlets but we were there in November and many were closed. A couple of take aways although we didn't use. Not a great deal of free street parking but some sizeable pay public car parks next to the lake. Plenty of free space to walk a dog. A couple of adequate playgrounds for small children.
My wife and I were in Llanberis for the Marathon, my 14th in Snowdonia. Will be back in the summer for more exploring and walking. It’s lovely part of north Wales. Will always recommend it. Lovely food at the Padarn hotel, places to visit obviously Mount Snowdon, Electric Mountain and the train and lakes.
Llanberis itself so quite a dour looking place but it is set in the most spectacular surroundings. There is a nice walk along beside a very pretty lake with a background of dramatic mountains. Perfectly situated for climbing Mount Snowdon.
Lovely village atmosphere (but a few hotspots!). Great jumping off point for Snowdon, Yr Wyddfa Rheilffordd, Llyn Padarn, North Wales (Caernarfon, Anglesey, Holy Island, Llyn Peninsula, Beaumaris, Conwy and so forth. Great chip shop too (Allports). One stop Shop was excellent! Gift shops very good. The staff at Snowdon Railway (Mr. Mike especially) were extremely helpful. Alpine Lodge was excellent as well: they even coached me with my Welsh! Great trip!
Worth a ride on the Llanberis Lake Railway.A must place to visit is the Slate Museum it's free. Friendly informative staff. Good films explaining the history. Period houses to visit. Must see the Slate splitting display. Very handy for climbing Snowdon.
The lake & the Mountains are stunning ! the landscape of the village of Llanberis & Snowdonia ! AH!!! FANTASTIC,FABULOUS! Very easy to get around. I loved walking there.. And Fantastic trips on the Welsh Highland Railways. really magical, spectacular landscape ! the trains journey to mountain I Loved it ! ! The National Slate Museum at Llanberis very good. so much hard work behind this development ! very well preserved museum !
Lovely cozy family and pet friendly orientated home. Very centrally situated in Llanberis, a stone's throw from shops, pubs and walking trails. The bus stop for the Sherpa bus is, more or less, 150 yards away. The owner, was extremely helpful when the front door wouldn't lock, just adds a nice touch to our stay when the owner takes time out of their busy schedule to pop around when messaged for assistance.
Breakfast service impressive. I was asked what I would like including preferences and asked what time would suit me best. Location was fantastic - scenic and perfect for walking up Snowdon on the Llanberis path. A snug where you can help yourself to tea and coffee is also an excellent idea. I also liked the wildlife pictures in the room.
The look is deceiving. Looks a little like a large house. It's very homely. The staff are very welcoming and informative. The breakfast is amazing as is the homemade pizza. We would definitely book this hotel again for our next walk up Snowdon or any North Wales visit. Cannot praise the place high enough.
- dinner was excellent in the Padarn restaurant (recommend the pie and mash) - very big hotel, nice little garden to have a drink in the sun - incredible location (right at the base of the mountain at the start of the Llanberis route), great if you are completing the Llanberis path up Snowdon.
Wonderful location in the countryside with good views but also a short drive from Llanberis and Caernarfon. Gorgeous, clean, character cottage where everything just worked, no hassles whatsoever. Perfect for a relaxing week exploring Snowdonia.
Offered a good place to stay for one night as we passed through Wales to climb Mount Snowdon. Lively bar with a good atmosphere, nice food and also very lovely walks nearby. Cheap and cheerful and did the job nicely!
Lovely room with very comfy king size bed, clean, great breakfasts and very friendly helpful staff. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate and even snacks in the room with a mini fridge. Great location for climbing Snowdon!
Modern, comfortable property. Good layout. Central to Llanberis and perfect for whole of North Wales and Snowdonia. Very well furnished and kitted out. Don’t think we were missing anything!
Excellent place to stay. Best accommodation I have stayed in in Snowdonia National Park. The host was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. Location was perfect.
Lovely mountain view ideal location for Snowdon. Shops and restaurants close by. Log burner lovely and cosy. Very good size property lovely and quiet
It was what an old style hotel should be. Nice clean room, great staff, nice simple restaurant and garden and a beautiful location
Only thing going for this hotel is the location to snowdonia
