The Black Boy is a 16th-century inn within Caernarfon's historic town walls.
An out of the ordinary experience staying at a place with such a long history, while walking the narrow floors and climbing the stairs you can feel the past centuries. The room was excellent, a lot of space with a big bathroom. The location is quite good being only a few minutes from the castle or the seaside. The staff was very friendly and helpfull. Breakfast was fine, not a lot of things on the menu but I suppose these are the things that locals usually eat for a good start of the day.

Caernarfon
A former 18th-century Customs House, The Anglesey Arms is a traditional tavern is built into the walls of Caernarfon Castle.
I loved everything about this place! The location is unbeatable, literally built into Caernarfon Castle, directly on the water. The outdoor seating area is always bustling with people & pets and indoor is a true step back in time. The food is truly exceptional. I had swordfish that melted in my mouth. Breakfast is as hearty or light as desired. The staff felt like old friends in no time, cheerfully sharing stories and patiently answering our many questions about the Welsh language. The town is charming, with so many curious shops and, of course, the Castle. Very easy walking to everything. My room was on the small side but very comfortable. My friends had a massive room worthy of a much pricier hotel. Sadly, I failed to encounter the ghost in Room 8 on this visit, which just means I will have to return. Amazing value for the cost. Friendly people everywhere. A real gem.

The whole town was absolutely beautiful - I admit a few things were difficult (I had to mail a package back home) but the process was explained very well and I was able to get my package sent home successfully. The local merchants were very helpful and friendly - absolutely nothing negative to say about these wonderful people. Wales will be the destination of my future vacations and possibly a relocation, most definitely!
Great place to visit. The locals are so friendly, which i found amazing as there are so many tourists who in my opinion were quite rude and didnt seem to like to use waste bins. I only had 3 days there and it was nowhere near enough. I have fallen in live with the area and will be returning for many more adventures, there is so much to explore.
Just loved all of the house, plenty of room for all the family. kids had plenty of room to play. So easy to get to other places we wanted to visit. Ate breakfast at the house then while out we dined in different places, but mostly in Caernarfon. Hope the owners enjoy the picture my son draw of there house. Would recommend this property to anyone wishing to stay in Caernarfon. Fab.
Excellent stay. The gentleman welcomed us and showed us the property and gave us descriptions of the each room, security system etc. Very pleasant. It was an ideal place to stay for a couple. It was especially clean and tidy. The kitchen was well stocked with equipment and was clean. Everything worked very well, and was easy to use. The bathroom had a walk in shower which was very spacious. Bathroom was very clean. It would be nice to have more storage to put your personal items in. Perhaps a shelf or two. Only one thing we noticed was the small flush on the toilet did not work, but the main one did. Couldn't inform anyone as know one was about. Bedroom. The bed was very comfortable but was a queen bed and would suit one person as we struggled having suitable personal space every night. My husband is 6.2 in height and his feet were hanging over the edge. The room was exceptional hot even with a window open. There were two seperate heaters available but nothing to cool the room down. Location was brilliant for the castle and town. Overlooking the harbour every morning was wonderful. Thank you very much for a great stay, Apart from that, our stay was lovely and would stay again.
A good centre to visit many of North Wales' attractions. It of course has its own attractions: The Castle; Welsh Highland Railway: Roman Remains; some good restaurants. Some wonderful Ice Cream shops. Worth doing on site research into the different flavours on offer !
Visited most of the sites we wanted to see in North West Wales. Caernarfon makes a perfect base for that. Need to get some exercise to do all the towers of the castle justice! Everything from Portmeirion in the south to Conwy in the east is within half an hour in the car. Visiting Snowdon itself is a lottery on a short trip as the cloud base often obscures any view. Also worth noting that in the summer if you want to travel up the mountain by train book well ahead or you will be disappointed! No shortage of food choices within a short walk from the hotel, welsh breakfasts, italian, indian, and lots of pub grub!
Caernarfon
Spacious and clean. A short walk from Caernarfon centre, the castle and other tourist sites, (and the pubs and take-aways.) A view of Snowdonia from the main bedroom. Well furnished, and the beds were extremely comfortable. We were a little uncertain about parking and possible local noise but parked right outside the door everytime, heard nothing from the neighbourhood and only saw one person walk passed the house. We've stayed in North Wales often at various places but this new one is a new favourite and the host... fantastic!
We really enjoyed our return visit to the Black Boy Inn and our suite with kitchenette gave us great flexibility as we explored the Llyn Penninsula. Breakfasts in the hotel were excellent with enough variety for us and freshly cooked ingredients. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening meal we chose to have - the restaurant had an extensive menu with a local flavour. The staff were friendly and efficient. There is plenty to do and see both in the town and the wider locality so the whole experience was of a relaxing break.
Caernarfon
The property was spotlessly clean, and cosy. We loved it. The balcony and it's view of the lake was a pleasant surprise .. perfect for breakfast & a G&T in the evening! The site was immaculate too, with restaurant & shop. Decent size pool and park if you are travelling with kids, they will love it. Caernarfon town centre is just a short drive away with plenty of restaurants and supermarkets.
Caernarfon
Location is fantastic, great history and excellent views from every room with either the water or the castle. Food was excellent, staff were wonderful, warm and accommodating. Great little spot to relax with a pint and play some games in the pub while the evening winds down with the smell of wood smoke from the small fireplace. We extended our stay a night and are so glad we did!
The friendly atmosphere in the hotel. The food was excellent. Breakfast was fresh, with a full cooked breakfast being hot, and plentiful, enough to take you through to the evening meal. Dinner was also excellent at a good price with a good variety on the menu. There was plenty of space in the car park and near enough to the centre of Caernarfon to be able walk.
Caernarfon
The Chalet is so cozy and relaxing and well placed in a peaceful environment close(6-7 min drive) to Caernarfon station. Host arranged for bread, butter and milk for breakfast. Sufficient supplies were there for tea/coffee. Think of anything home essential and it was available in charlet.
Flat had an immediate feel of homey, comfortable, relaxed. Nice size living room and bedroom and bathroom. Kitchen seemed fine but we chose not to use it. Temperature was good and we could adjust if needed. Five minutes walk to castle and whole of downtown. Very safe area
Caernarfon
This place is in the perfect location, right next to the castle and the bay. It is very clean. The beds were VERY comfy. The owner met me and showed me around. They had tea and coffee in the kitchen. I really enjoyed my stay here.
Caernarfon
Great location - the decking outside the cabin had a great view of the Snowdonian hills, and it's a five minute walk down the hill and across the river to the town centre, with stunning views of Caernarfon Castle on the way,
Loved the location (close to castle and WHR) and friendly staff. Rooms were clean and comfortable, but the muggy weather during our stay made it little difficult to sleep. Would definitely recommend to others.
Caernarfon
The guest house was a beautiful property located within easy walking distance of the castle. One thing to note. If you arrive before checkin, there are no facilities available at the guest house so plan ahead.
This hotel was lovely. Very well decorated and clean. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. It is a great base for Caernarfon.
I like the position of the hotel. It is in the town centre and very close to places where I want to visit.
