Hello and welcome! We are Lubi and Phil and we are the owners of Teana Cottage in Polperro. We bought the cottage in 2021 after falling in love with the vibrant fishing village, which seems to exist in a wonderful separate universe. We had been coming to Cornwall for several years and felt immediately at home when we visited Polperro for the first time. How could something so quirky and beautiful still exist in this modern world? Since we became the proud owners of Teana, we have made a considerable investment to bring it to the modern-day standards while respecting its past. We hope you like what you see.
Nestled in the heart of Polperro, Teana Cottage is a peaceful retreat in a vibrant Cornish village, where everyday worries become a distant dream. Wake up to the call of seagulls, nip around the corner to the bakery for freshly baked scones, bread and pastries and have your breakfast on the front patio while the village around you comes to life. Lose yourself on the Southwest Coast Path following the contours of craggy cliffs, your steps moving to the beat of the sea waves. Explore the local beaches and coves where smugglers once landed their precious cargo. Venture out to the sea on a boat trip around the bay. Have a spot of lunch at one of the fantastic eateries in the village and then retreat with a book to the comfort of your own private suntrap on the front patio. Soak in the glorious sunshine, watch the ebb and flow of the village around you, and in the evening venture down to the pub for a pint or two. Make Teana Cottage your home away from home for a while and all this may just become reality. This charming, traditional, dog-friendly Cornish cottage in the heart of Polperro and in the immediate vicinity of the harbour, shops and pubs.
Like most cottages in Polperro, Teana was shaped over several centuries as is evident from its wonky floors, massive basement walls and traces of old chimneys and fireplaces. To the front, there is a raised, south-facing double patio which is a perfect suntrap from late March to October and is ideal for alfresco dining. The front door leads into the kitchen with modern appliances and a dining table. To the left of the kitchen is a lounge with a log burner, a comfortable sofa, a TV set, books and games. Upstairs, there are two bedrooms, which share a family shower room. There is a spacious double bedroom with a walk-in wardrobe. The second bedroom is a cozy single with a large south-facing window. All windows are large and to the front of the property, making the interior bright and cheerful particularly in summer, whereas in winter months, the log burner and modern electric heaters will keep you warm and comfortable even on a stormy night. Visitors can reach the Teana by car to drop off their luggage before parking their vehicle in the reserved parking space at Violet Farm Carpark at the top of Landaviddy Lane.
