The Old Washhouse is a bungalow in a small village approx. 2 miles from the market town of Fakenham. The double room has an en suite shower room and the twin room has a private bathroom immediately opposite the bedroom across the corridor. The breakfast room is equipped as a lounge with comfortable seating so that you can sit to discuss your plans for the next day, read a book or just gaze onto the flames of the wood burning stove should you choose. A cooked breakfast of your choice ( no kippers, but try me for anything else you would like) is available at extra cost. Tea coffee facilities are available in each bedroom. And if there's anything you want, just ask. I'll do my best to help.
I've been running the b +b for a few years as a hobby in retirement as I like meeting the people who come to stay as guests. I'm really keen to ensure that the facilities I offer are as good as I can make them and appreciate any helpful comments about how I can improve. If you are looking for local shops, pubs etc we don't have them in the village and the most common negative comment I get is that there aren't any " village ameneties". I've managed to keep my review score at 9.7 for 3 years and that's the most commonly reported negative. Most oeoe however like the quiet and we have quite a lot if that
There is a restaurant in the village but no shops or other facilities. Fakenham is just a couple of miles and has most things that you will need including 4 supermarkets. The nearest coastal resort is Wells next the sea which is about a 10 minute drive and the area is a popular countryside/ coastal holiday area particularly well known for its many nature reserves and the coastal marshes....and a multiplicity of eating places.
