It was very clean and everything seemed new, we felt that we must have been the first visitors. There was nothing old or tatty, and no fusty smells. It was all very bright and fresh. The bathroom didn’t have any mould on the grout or sealant, the shower had good power and the hot water and heating worked well. The house was very close to supermarket and only 2 minutes from the sea front. It was all perfect.

The town centre had all the usual cafes and shops.
The town centre had all the usual cafes and shops. For me the highlight was the walking. Very attractive greenery and a good challenging walk up to the lighthouse through the woods. The church is also well worth a visit.
If you are a foodie then I highly reccomend Gibsons. Excellent imaginative well cooked food with good friendly service.

Cromer was an ideal place to visit with a disabled son.
Cromer was an ideal place to visit with a disabled son. We were able to walk around the whole of the centre easily, and even walk to and from the Amazon Zoo, which Oliver really enjoyed. I am sure there were lots of things we missed in Cromer because we were using it more as a place we could use as a starting point for going to other places rather than spend the whole of the holiday in Cromer itself.

I think that Cromer is a good base as it has better facilities than other towns/villages nearby but I also feel it is a bit crowded and tired. There are lots of beautiful places to visit nearby however and top of our list would be Well Next the Sea/Holkham beach, Holt and Norwich. If you visit Norwich don't miss the Cathedral Quarter as it is so peaceful and beautiful plus free to enter and look around.
Holkham beach at Wells is absolutely stunning and incredibly clean. Consider hiring a beach hut as they are fabulous and at £65 for a full day (9:30 - whenever you want to leave) are good value if you want to stay on the beach with a picnic all day.
Holt is a beautiful Georgian town with lots of independent shops where you can easily pass 3-4 hours.
We frequently drove along the coast road (A149) and simply stopped off at villages along the way - there are far too many to mention but standouts would be Blakeny and Cley.
Overall I would say this area is lovely and especially if you like walking but you need good weather.
The Grove Cromer is a gem and a sanctuary by the coast. It may be a little away from the hustle and bustle of the lovely beach town of Cromer but that works in its favour because its quietness and tranquility provides the perfect place to relax, rest and be taken care of with easy access into the town and onto the beaches. The hotel is beautifully kept and is in tradition to a country house. Breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented. Enjoyed every minute. Totally recommended.
My wife and I are mature cyclists. We travelled around Norfolk using two Sustrans routes.
We stopped at five different hotels about 45 miles apart. Each hotel traditionally catered for other markets. All the staff we met on tour were friendly and helpful and all the hotels were clean. The Hotel de Paris was busy when we arrived hosting a coach party. The staff were very busy so perhaps we felt a little underwhelmed with the reception.
I had an enjoyable stay in a well appointed hotel, with an excellent view. The staff were friendly and efficient, the food was excellent and both the cleaning and service were fully satisfactory. I would recommend the Cliftonville Hotel to anyone visiting Cromer.
From the initial greeting at reception we were treated with first class service by all the staff. Rooms were very good for size and cleanliness. Bathroom was spotless. Food was excellent too. Highly recommend this hotel if you are visiting Cromer.
Room very good, staff excellent and v friendly, breakfast mediocre, Sunday Lunch excellent. Hôtel a great location for walks, proximity to Cromer. Nice swimming pool. Would I stay again ? Yes
