Vicarage Barn is a 5 minute drive to Windermere (3.9km) and is a lovely two bedroomed detached barn conversion in the garden of the Old Vicarage in the small village of Ings. Vicarage Barn is an ‘upside-down’ barn conversion built from traditional lakeland stone. It has two bedrooms, shower room and kitchen on the ground floor and the living-dining room is on the first floor. The Barn can sleep 3 people in one double bedroom and one single bedroom. The accommodation is fully equipped with a fitted kitchen including a dishwasher. Linen and towels are provided as well as free wifi. Cycle storage is available. There is a relaxing outdoor seating and eating area outside Vicarage Barn set within beautiful views. Vicarage Barn is not suitable for children under 5 (as the stairs are steep and there is a stream nearby). An additional child bed is available on request. No dogs are allowed at Vicarage Barn as a dog, three cats and three chickens live at the Old Vicarage (as well as the owners’ sheep and horses). Many walks and cycle rides are available from the door of Vicarage Barn.

Tracy and David live in the Old Vicarage with their teenage son. They all enjoy the outdoor life that living in the Lake District offers and can provide visitors with lots of information about outdoor activities, walks, cycling, horse riding, water sports and attractions in the area. They all also enjoy looking after their sheep, horses and chickens that live in the fields around the Old Vicarage.

Ings is a perfect holiday location for those wanting to be in a rural village setting but within easy reach of all that the Lake District has to offer. Windermere is 2 miles away with Ambleside, Grasmere, Coniston and Keswick all within easy reach. Vicarage Barn is a 15 minute drive from junction 36 of the M6 motorway. Ings village is home to the award-winning Watermill Pub (a 5 minute walk from the barn) which serves excellent food and brews its own real ale. The Lakeland Farm Visitor Centre is also located in the village, not only offering a variety of Lake District farming experiences but also serving delicious food throughout the day and selling its own local farming produce. A convenience store is available at the fuel station in the village. Ings also has a Pret cafe.
