I’ll be honest the place is basic and I mean that by Greek standards. But if you are looking for a cheap clean quiet, proper 1 bedroom apartment (not a bed sit or converted hotel room with open plan kitchen) that is air conditioned, has a hot shower, a nice view of the hinterland and is right in the middle of town and walking distance to everything you need for a great Greek getaway, then we’d love to have you stay.
Whilst I live in London, my thoughts are always of Greece. I have been coming to Xylokastro since I was a boy. It is a wonderful family destination with many local amenities. My children consider it their second home, I hope you will as well. We are usually in Xylokastro 3 times a year, other times we are always only a phone call away. My aunt lives in the building and is available to help.
The town of Xylokastro is a great holiday destination. We love it because it has such variety. You have the beaches of course (it is Greece after all) but there is the pine forest preserve, the town square where the local children play every night, the port, it has a fun fair in the summer for the under 10’s a vibrant local night club scene for the 16-30’s and a sea-side café set for everyone else. It is safe and very family friendly. We have been bringing our kids on holiday here since they were 2. For the mobile and adventurous Kalavrita is only an hour and a half away and we have been skiing there for the last 3 years. (That is right, Greece has skiing!) Everything is in walking distance.
