As the proud owners of Leirulækjasel, Eyrún and Þórður, we recently embarked on a fulfilling journey, leaving the bustling capital behind to embrace a more tranquil existence in the countryside, accompanied by our cherished horses. Our farm is home to a delightful array of animals, including horses, sheep, dogs, cats, and hens. Guests are warmly invited to acquaint themselves with our friendly farm residents. Selið Farm Stay – Guesthouse is nestled within the enchanting landscape of Leirulækjarsel Farm, approximately 15 km from Borgarnes. The surroundings are a picturesque tapestry of rolling hills adorned with graceful birch trees emerging from serene swamplands. Perched atop a gentle hill, our guesthouse provides breathtaking vistas, including the Hafnarfjall mountain and the Snæfellsnes glacier. During the luminous summer nights, the air is alive with the melodies of birds, creating a truly magical atmosphere. In the winter months, when the skies darken, the northern lights grace us with their vibrant displays due to our secluded location and the absence of light pollution. This locale boasts a rich history that traces its roots back to Viking times.

Selið farm-stay / Guesthouse is located at the farm Leirulækjasel about 15. km from Borgarnes town. The farm sits on a small hill providing excellent views from all directions. From the house, you can see two glaciers, mountains, lakes, and even Reykjavík city and Keilir mountain in the distance. The surroundings are green grass fields, small hills, and lakes - a perfect location for walks (hikes) and mountain biking. This area of Iceland is filled with history, for example from the Viking era. Egill Skallagrímsson lived closed by and the area has a large part in some of the Icelandic sagas.
