Via della Frezza is located in the Campo Marzio district, between Via del Corso and Via di Ripetta. The name is said to derive from the Frezza family, a surname later changed to Freccia, who were the owners of a palace that no longer exists that later passed to the Orsini family. History tells us that in the center of Via della Frezza at the corner with Vicolo delle Colonnette, there was a widening where in those times, through a beam placed between the windows of the buildings, the torture of the rope was performed for those who were condemned.
