The villa is located in Giuggianello, the smallest village in Salento, 36 km from Lecce, 14 km from Otranto and 41 km from Gallipoli. Incorporated in 1192 into the Lecce County by the Norman Tancredi, it was subsequently a fiefdom of the Lubelli, the Martino, the Basurto, the Guarini and finally the Veris. The inhabited center is located in a valley 79 meters above sea level, in a flat area with a weak crease to the east represented by the so-called 'Serra'. Among the attractions of Giuggianello are worth mentioning: the Massi della Vecchia, a particular configuration of some compact limestone boulders which in ancient times gave rise to a legend linked to the myth of Hercules and the giants, according to what was handed down to us by Aristotle himself in 'De Mirabilis Auscultationibus'. In fact, popular culture has assigned them bizarre names such as: Lu Lettu de la Vecchia (the old woman's bed) and the swinging boulder of Hercules. Also noteworthy is the Dolmen 'Stabile' or 'Quatromacine', which dates back to the second half of the 2nd millennium BC. and is located near the farm of the same name where a medieval village was discovered in 1992. The Dolmen is one of the most beautiful and best preserved in Salento. The Menhir 'Polisano' was recently recovered and 'Croce Caduta' was discovered in 1979.
