The Host Kennan contacted me via WhatsApp so communication was easy all the time. He speaks quite good English. He is also an excellent surfing teacher and took us on a private safari to see elephants and crocodiles. The location is 5 minutes walk to the main road of Arugam Bay. Perfect for us.

Kannan and his wife are the best hosts you can imagine! We had some awesome surfing lessons and he knows everything about arugam bay and the area. Their place is located 2 minutes to the beach and a little off the main road, so it's calm and great to relax. Still it just takes 3 minutes to go to the bars and restaurants. The room was clean and the breakfast was fresh and plenty. We felt so welcome at this great place and will be more than happy to return!

If you see Drift is available, book it right away. Kannan is amazing host and the best surf instructor in Arugam Bay you can find. The room is clean and spacious, the area is close to the beach, Main Street with all restaurants and shops. The internet is good too. I didn’t struggle to work remotely comparing to other places in Arugam Bay and Sri Lanka in general. I really enjoyed time spent at Drift, surf lessons and communication with Kannan.

Kannan's place is amazing. It has the perfect location, walking distance to the main surf break and to the main street. We were able to work with fast fibre internet and desks in the rooms. Kannan is a super host who looks after every need you may have. Definitely recommend!

We loved the location of the accommodation, it was private and quiet. Close to the beach. It was a more authentic and personal experience compared to most of the other option on the Main Street. Kannan was so helpful and such a pleasure to meet. Aircon was new and quiet - big difference from previous stay.

Kannan is always available and have lots of great ideas to make your stay unforgettable (savage jungle barbecue under the stars surrounded by elephants, surf lessons, knows all the best places and surf boards and so much more).This is the most perfect place we have ever been! The location is amazing, just a few meters from the surf spots in Arugam Bay. The room was so clean and intimate, in a superb jungle garden with monkeys. We fell in love with this paradise but mostly we fell in love with Kannan. We are already planning to come back to Drift to see our friend again. Don’t hesitate, you’ll thank us. Awesome and clean accommodation. Kannan your host ist amazingly friendly and can help out with literally everything from surfing to booking a bus. The Kitchen is nice, the AC is working well and the wood used in the rooms and at the house give everything a warm and natural touch. Main Point for surfing is super close though the location is far enough away from the main road to be really chill and comfy.

Perfect area to stay in, just off the main road so nice and quiet. Big, clean room with AC which is needed as it’s so hot! Kannan is so helpful and helped us organise transport and a safari as well as teaching us how to surf! He is a very experienced and patient teacher!

Kannan was a super host, he was very flexible with us as we didn't have everything planned and he taught us surfing for two days which we loved and he's a great teacher. He also took us to see the sunrise at elephant rock and a bbq on the beach so definitely went above and beyond as a host. The room is super cute with really pretty plants outside and a nice hammock and it's only a few mins walk to the beach and the yummy rotti stands, so would definitely recommend.
