Night Sky Cottage is designed to offer a true 5-star, eco-focussed, New Zealand protected native bush experience. The cottage is set in 1-ha of protected native Manuka and Beech Tree bush and is accessible via a 50 mtr boardwalk. The Cottage itself is fully self contained and furnished with European flair. There is a cozy wood fire, open plan lounge dining area with skylights for all day sun and nighttime stargazing and a fully equipped kitchen. A very special feature of the cottage is the bathroom which features 2 side-by-side freestanding bath-tubs looking into the bush as well as a large walk-in shower and pedestal vanity units complimented by luxury bathrobes and homemade toiletries. A covered full width deck with outdoor furniture and a BBQ allows for lazy days taking in the beautiful surroundings and you might even see some deer wandering by. A short bush walk leads to a private decked picnic area with stunning views of Mt Ruapehu. Despite feeling like you're in the middle of nowhere the town of Ohakune is just a short 10 min drive and the Tongariro Crossing and all other activities in the region are within easy reach. The Old Coach Road cycle trail is just 2 mins away

The Old Coach Road cycle trail is just 2 mins away and both Whakapapa and Turoa Ski-fields are a leisurely 30 min drive as are the shuttle services to the Tongariro Crossing alpine walk. Night Sky Cottage is central to many other activities such as Scenic flights, jet boating and kayaking on the Whanganui river, Quad Bike Adventures, Paddle- boarding, guided walks in the Tongariro National Park, horse trekking and Forgotten World Rail Journeys.
