Loft cottage above owners home. Very cute, clean and well situated for hiking in Arthur’s Pass national park. Owner provided ideas for things to see in area and advised beforehand to make dinner reservations at the one restaurant nearby. It was very good, best lamb ever. Magnificent waterfall nearby but400 steps to view.

The Loft is a cosy couples retreat - private and welcoming. Wake to the dawn chorus beside your very own waterfall. Be drawn to breathtaking snow-capped mountain views from your window. Breathe the fresh mountain air. Explore numerous walking tracks, local ski-fields, the Craigieburn mountain bike trails, lakes, rivers, streams. Castle Hill rocks, or adventure underground at Cave Stream! Just 10 minutes from Arthur's Pass village / a two hour drive from Christchurch International Airport.
Well Hello there! I am very passionate about travel and the wilderness, whether it be mountaineering, trekking, cycle touring, hunting, fishing, exploring some distant corner of the globe, or capturing interesting photographs - the expectation of heading away on an adventure keeps me enthusiastic about life.
Bealey is a remnant of the 1865 gold-rush days when prospectors flocked to the West Coast in search of fortune! An accommodation house was later established to cater for travellers, hence the origins of the Bealey Hotel. The modern day Bealey Hotel has super friendly staff and offers fantastic meals! Bealey itself is the gateway to numerous day walks (closest being Bealey Spur Track, and O'Malleys), and overnight walks incl. the Coast to Coast mountain run over Goat Pass, access up the Waikakariri River to Carrington Hut, the Three Pass trip plus numerous other hikes. Mountain bike trails are in the Craigieburn Ranges and the Poulter River, and there are numerous opportunities for hunting, fishing, rock climbing, skiing and general exploration. Bealey also gives access to Cave Stream - an exhilarating underground adventure. Arthur's Pass village (12 min by car) has a Department of Conservation Visitor Information Centre, The Store (incl petrol/diesel, but with limited provisions), The Wobbly Kea Cafe/bar, and access to numerous shorter half/day walks incl. the Devil's Punchbowl, Avalanche Peak, Temple Basin, and Mt Rolleston.
