Hi I'm Lisa! I created a space at Wairere Cottage that I am very proud to share with you. I take great pride in delivering a space that has comforts of home and feels like a space you want to linger at! I love meeting guests and sharing suggestions for things to do in the region, I'll take your lead though, if you prefer to be left to yourselves too! The Bay of Islands is steeped in history, being the first place that Maori came ashore and the first settlement for Pakeha (White Europeans) when the Missionaries arrived in the 1800's. There are many historic sites to explore with the oldest NZ house being walking distance from Wairere Cottage.
We live on the property at Wairere House, one of the few remaining period houses in Kerikeri, we have two very cute bichon x dogs, Molly & Bertie. Thom has a night skies observatory in the garden- if the skies are good and he's got his telescope out you're welcome to join!
We look forward to welcoming you.
Lisa & Thom
Steeped in history with the oldest settlement sites in NZ here in the Bay of Islands. Maori culture, Missionary farms and homesteads, museums, art galleries, wine tasting, great restaurants and wineries, weekend markets, some of the best beaches in NZ, diving and fishing, boating and watersports.
Kerikeri is a super friendly town with so much to offer. We absolutely LOVE it here! A fantastic base for exploring the Far North.
