Ciutat petita però molt ben cuidada. Molta oferta de restaurants. Encara que no hi ha platja hi ha piscines naturals per tot arreu. El millor de Funchal és que pots arrivar a tots els racons de la illa en poc temps gràcies als túnels que hi ha per tota la illa.

És una ciutat no gaire gran. El centre està ben urbanitzat, però quan surts del centre tot són pujades i baixades terribles. A Funchal, amb un parell de dies hi ha de sobres. Per tot Madeira, amb una setmana et pots fer una bona idea de l'illa

Hi havia una petita cuina que tenia un equipament molt bàsic per fer algun àpat, però no per fer-ho servir com a cuina habitual, ja que faltava espai i estris. L'hotel es troba al carrer principal, on hi ha restaurants i supermercats bàsics a prop. Per arribar al mar hi ha una forta baixada, però no hi ha platja.
