location, unique,simply stunning 180 degree views in an authentic medieval hill top fortification/village, the castle is 2 steps outside your private entry if you stay in the room 4 with free standing bath tub, enormous bathroom area/ separate shower all done in marble with massive marble basin area . air con / mini kitchen with microwave/kettle/coffee plunger and huge fridge , plenty of hot water/very comfortable with outside terrace seating and blankets for extra comfort. mitch and vicki are the best hosts ever, after a weeks stay we felt like friends , a beautiful breakfast was prepared each morning for us - amazing . staying at the place at evoramonte is your best choice in the region to explore, elvas, estremoz, monsaraz, marvao, castelo de vide, etc. each morning the views change from mist/fog to glorious crystal clear mountians in the distance, you can visit the castle/ craft shops and walk on castle walls.

I simply have no words to describe what this place is - but I will try my best. On the top of a hill, there's one castle from 500 years ago, 12 people living in a Street, some goats, and this place with the most stunning view possible, overlooking the Alentejo on one side - and the castle itself on the other. There are only four rooms here. They are beautiful, spacious, and comfortable. We got here to celebrate our first wedding anniversary, and the hosts gave us an upgrade for the weekend. The hosts, Mitch and Vicky, are great, generous, and amazing people who have lived all over the world - from Thailand to Saudi Arabia. Vicky made sure that we were having a great time - and suggested several places around for us to go. She's already an expert in the area. Mitch prepares amazing food - highlights to the Pizza, which is just great. I hope to get back to this place again soon. It left a mark on me.

  • Do you have a restaurant or is there a restaurant nearby? Can we park our car near the hotel?
    We serve dinner for guests between 19h and 19.30hr. There is another cafe-restaurant in Evoramonte - but down the hill. Plus one in Azaruja (10mins by car) - and many in Estremoz (20 mins by car). There is space to park just a few mins walk away.

    Hi there - I'm afraid we do not have laundry facilities for guests. However there are self service facilities in nearby Estremoz and Evora if required.

  • Would we be allowed to drop our luggage off early?
    Yes of course - no problem. And if there is any possibility of accessing your room earlier, we will let you know. But that will depend on guests leaving sharply on the day you arrive.

Company information

Mitch and Vicki have had the dream of running a fine B&B for more than 15 years. We have lived in Europe, Africa, Thailand - and have traveled the world, always picking up tips on what to do to make a perfect stay (and Vicki also picked up "shopping" which is now on display throughout. We always knew that we wanted to run a B&B, the trick was to find a beautiful place - and then to work to get the most wonderful rooms fully equipped for guests to enjoy. We have managed that! Now - we are here to help you have a fine time. Give us a yell (either before you come or when you are here) if you want any help with planning your trip.

Property information

We found this lovely place at the top of Evoramonte right next door to the Castle. We have spent two years getting it ship-shape - and now we think it is ready to welcome you here. The views are fantastic - every morning, every evening brings a different sunrise or sunset. And EVERY room has access to balconies with breathtaking views. There is double glazing and airconditioning throughout, and we have managed to keep many of the original features. All the bathrooms have been made out of local marble which a local craftsman has machined to fit. It is a wonderful place to spend two or three days while you explore everything on offer in the surrounding area.

Neighbourhood information

Evoramonte is at the top of the hill, actually inside the castle walls and right next to the castle. The views from up here are breathtaking... you'll see. And this is the perfect spot from which to explore all the wonderful attractions in the area - just 25 minutes drive from Evora. We have a massive damn to the east, a pottery village (more than 20 different potters at work), a carpet town where mostly they make carpets, historic towns, several castles, great food - well, the list goes on and on. Come and see - our aim is to ensure that you have such a great time that you will come back.
