I have always been fascinated by building design and consumed with a desire to study architecture. I started working at construction projects from a young age and throughout my life I have built many free-standing buildings, mostly built from ecological materials. Archibald Bozidar Petrovic always inspired me with his books and in one of them he wrote: “I wouldn’t do it that way, but the client wanted it that way.” We constructed our house by adapting it to an existing log cabin made in accordance with traditional Dinaric architectural methods. It is constructed from the highest quality wood sources from the charming Cemerno- Orlja Glava mountain.
We are a small, family and modest retreat where our goal is to devote ourselves to a smallernumber of guests and thereby maintain quality and dedication to work. The idea of a retreat arose after many years of working in world hotels and connecting with nature. The hotels brought us a great experience and we realized that in this beautiful nature at the foot of the Povlen mountain we can create a small oasis on top of the hill with a beautiful view to the south and mountains like Tara, Zlatibor, Golija, Kopaonik and even Durmitor. Due to the hilly landscape and difficult terrain, this region has been spared from the industrial method of land cultivation. In this way, all the minerals in the land have been preserved and the land is of exceptional quality, so that this region is exceptional for growing livestock, raspberries, blackberries, plums, but also all other types of vegetables and fruits.
